If anything I would characterize Di'anno more as a punk frontman rather than metal...for what it's worth, it added a vagabond/rebel dimension to early Maiden. But then again I love and admire all stages of Maiden - it's a band with a long history 😊

I had a couple maiden albums before getting the 2 early ones and I was in utter shock, like this at bruce and I really fell in love with the 1st album and I agree with others that you can't compare these 2 singers, it's like completely different bands. Up the irons!

You can't compare Paul and Bruce... they are totally different. Both are great and Paul fitted perfectly into the first two albums. With Bruce they took the next step of writing and performing great music. Maiden is great in every incarnation.
