I was there that night, but I'm also here after Nicko's press note. It's hard to believe this was his first public performance after suffering a stroke. Having him perform this well only four months or so after falling ill is unbelievable. Not a perfect performance by any means, but considering the circumstances, it's inspiring. Well done, Nicko.

it's probably easier to "judge" watching a youtube video, but i was there, i was there when they finally played the SIT material, when they played bangers from senjustu, when they played THE PRISONER and let me tell you, people went absolutely batshit crazy. nicko's drum sound was HEAVY as shit, it was one of the things that hit me the first and in the heat of the moment i literally missed everything he did "subpar". the way they played that first show was OUT OF THIS FUCKING WORLD. not inspiring. it was MAJESTIC. hearing stranger first time in my life and first time since 2000 something when they played it the last time was out of this world, CAUGHT SOMEWHERE IN TIME WAS... idk, i cried through the whole song. nobody really cared about nicko's drumming or adrians solo fuckups or bruce forgettting a line or two. it was fucking MAJESTIC. all of those mistakes were honest mistakes a hard working band do. still miles better than any other 80''s band doing tours at the moment (okay, excluding metallica. metallica and maiden are the only ones doing it properly).
