William Wallace you fool. First battle of Stirling Bridge in which Wallace won in September 1297. His final battle Battle of Falkirk in July 1298 when he army was hammered as Wallace fled he was and handed over to King Edward. John de Menteith, a Scottish knight loyal to Edward, turned Wallace over to English soldiers caught in Robroyston, near Glasgow. King Edward had had him hung drawn and quarter. The film has many faults but remember its a film meant for entertainment not for history. Hope that corrected you on the matter.

Blazes voice is better than Bruces in my opinion, both are great tho

Blaze's voice is more suited for this song, but overall, Bruce is a much better singer subjectively and objectively. Bruce has a much larger vocal range, a better trained voice, better able to express himself emotionally in a song. Bayley's advantage in singing this song is his less trained, less controlled voice fits well with the theme of the song. Also, this song was written with Bayley's voice in mind.
