I mean, I used to like GnR eagerly(especially Slash like in my profile pic) but now I love Iron Maiden more. Because they are very constant and got better career. And they are lyrical and the sound is very superb, diverse, progressive, historical. Not to mention they are stand on still and inspiring many bands to seek their music. Iconic galloping style is my favorite one. Just listen to their songs, those instruments are shined and even live performance is great. I love that clear bass sound. I love that melody and rhythm guitar. Drum and vocal are also magnificent. So much melody and story are included. And Bruce got much better manner and wouldn't late at show. It's way professional.

@Rita Lovett Yeah, Axl needed to grow up and know the way to give respect that others give to him. It's clear that his behavior even made his bandmates sick of him. Plus their drug problem was very serious and even their ex drummer got stroke from heroin..Steve wouldn't have let this problem and he have hated drug. Maiden guys know their job clearly and they don't cross line dangerously. I love Bruce and Maiden didn't end up with 2~3 albums. Axl 'Ego' Rose should have worried about their future albums. I love Izzy, Slash and Duff, but not much Axl now. He was the pain in the ass for sure.

Comparing Axl to Bruce Dickinson is like comparing Brett Michaels to Rob Halford. Axl has a decent voice, but GnR was more about image than about the music. Typical late 80's/early 90's pop metal geared to MTV. Maiden is about the music. The lyrics tell meaningful stories, not brainless tales of drug abuse and lust. The hair metal bands were brainless fluff performed by party animals for party animals. Bruce Dickinson has an operatic quality tenor voice which accompanies the stellar, progressive metal imstrumentals of a tight, polished, flashy ensemble that would be a first class instrumental ensemble even without a vocalist. Maiden instrumentals, such as Transylvania, put Maiden in the same league as Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satriani, Vinnie Moore, and Steve Vai. Great music stands the test of time. This is why Maiden still plays to packed stadiums, and plays better than ever 35 years after their debut album came out. The hair bands were part of a fad. Their musical mediocrity is why they are now nothing more than symbols of an era.

Glad you guys enjoyed my observations! To me, Maiden is in a different league from Gn'R. Maiden is progressive metal, both musically and lyrically. When I am not listening to Maiden, I am probably listening to Rush, Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Schenker Group, Jethro Tull, older Genesis, Emerson, Lake&Palmer or Yes. Never owned a single album by the likes of Poison, Motley Crue, or Gn'R. My good buddy, who is also a huge Maiden fan, is usually listening to Dio or Rainbow when not listening to Maiden. ZZ Top will be playing in our area this spring. Neither of us have any interest whatsoever in going.

It's the other way around. Slash and Izzy were the ones getting high AF every single night while Axl studied video of the previous performance. Maiden are professionals. Not only are (were) all of Maiden's musicians/vocalists way more super talented (with either Burr or McBrain, Di'Anno or Dickinson, Stratton, etc.), but they inspired the entire progressive thrash metal genre into birth. I love Iron Maiden but Guns N roses is my favorite band. In my opinion Guns N roses lyrics spoke on more relatable topics that no matter what music you listen too you can relate to, Slash had some of the most memorable guitar riffs and guitar solos ever, and they not only hard heavy music like Welcome to the Jungle, but they also had soft romantic music like Sweet child of mine. I respect Iron Maiden a lot though.

Funny how Axl said how he hoped to never be like Maiden and doesn't understand what they do. But back in 1988, during their "Appetite for destruction" album, GnR (along with 2 or 3 other minor bands) opened for Iron Maiden's Seventh Son tour. I was at that concert. GnR sounded really bad, lyric-wise especially, and they got booed after many of their songs. I still remember them saying to the audience halfway through their set (in order to get SOME cheers, it seemed); "I'm sure you all can't wait for Iron Maiden to come out!" and they smiled when they got their cheers. But got booed again after their final songs they played. Not sure how popular they would've gotten if they didn't get to tour with Maiden which helped them get recognised.

What a time to be alive.. my first conscious Memory didnt come until 1990 when I split my eye open stepping into a car (slipped and busted it on the step thing) when I was 3 years old. Born in January of 87.. last generation to play outside and actually be a kid. They never show up hours late, cuss out the audience, start a fight and then leave. Axl is selling out after hiding for most of the past 30 years. He's giving new fans a chance to see how much he really sucks and giving old fans a chance to remember all the times he let them down. He's a clown. I wouldn't pay to see him, I wouldn't go to a free concert, and I wouldn't waste my time if you paid me to go to one.

Axl rose is great and slash is just incredible and my favorite but iron maiden just hits different and they give me the chills and they may not be fast and talented but they are so creative and make the best sounds and is bonding with the music. Iron maiden is better but guns n roses is somewhere around maiden
