I was bullied in the School, close to this time I discovered Iron Maiden. After the Scholl I used to lay down in my bed and listen to this song... I was always alone at home and used to dream with better times when the things will be better... Nowadays I have a band and I'm living one of the happiest moments of my life 'cause we are close to compose our first album. In 1992 I was 10 years old and I got "Somewhere in Time" from a neighbor who was leaving this world because he had contracted AIDS and at that time it was a dark time in relation to this disease. He left and left me many albums by various bands but I was thrilled with the cover of Somewhere by the great Derek Riggs. Thus began my oddissey in search of everything from the band. About the wonderful Wasting, in fact I prefer to talk about what was actually the resounding success of Fear of the Dark, guys if I only knew what we were living in those mid-90's magical time. In 2001 I was at Rock in Rio 3 and I saw Bruce come back very close, Iron Maiden is my favorite band without a doubt.

you are totally right! the early and mid 90´s were magical! and some loved bands are still on the road! in 1993 a friend gave me a CD and said "song number 5!" and i felt instantly in hard love. and i still hear them. that sond was "Dream Theater - Metropolis Part 1 : the miricale and the sleeper" from the Album "Images and Words". man, we can pe proud that we were allowed to live in that time of music!

It's the forgotten songs, the underrated ones, the unpopular tunes, you know the ones...lost in the shuffle with all the hits and more known songs. Songs like this. For some reason it's those songs...they INSTANTLY take you right back to a specific time. A hardship this song helped you through, or maybe songs like this help you remember a record store you were in, a night drive down the highway, a rainy day home from school. This song for me is all of those things. I remember walking into Tower Records and seeing the *Japanese import* double disc for Live at Donington and my jaw dropped. It was $40 and I snapped that up, it was the most expensive thing I ever bought at the time. Fantastic version of this tune on that disc. Now I want to go stare out the window at the rain on a random childhood Sunday at 3:37 pm.
