Ah yes, the summer of 1983 a young 13 year old Maddog collected his newspaper route money and headed to the record store and bought Piece of Mind by Iron Maiden (never having heard of Iron Maiden or heavy metal) solely because of the album art. I got home and slapped that record on my turn table and Where Eagles Dare was the very first metal song I had ever heard. I was blown away! Nicko McBrain was an instant hero to me (except I wish he wasn't a single bass snob). I had to learn that song, I had to play drums. It took me a year of saving from my paper route to buy my first, second hand kit. I had no idea where to start. There was no internet, no KZbin and living on a military base in New Brunswick, Canada you couldn't just go to the local mall and buy a video. So I listened to that song and tried to match the drums Nicko hit to the drums on my kit. Needless to say I wore out that album and two cassettes teaching myself how to play that song and eventually the whole record. 36 years later, I still play drums (and bass), I still love Iron Maiden and I still love heavy metal!!!

While she did a masterfully awesome performance it was not perfect. She did miss some bass notes and her rhythm was off a tad. That being said, she did a great job as usual and you are right, this is a great distraction to what the world is going through now and would love to see more!!!

Sono affezionato a questa canzone. È la prima canzone heavy metal che ho sentito quando avevo 12 anni, quella che mi ha fatto appassionare al genere. Vedere oggi una bella ragazza giovane che sente questa musica e suona questi capolavori (in mezzo allo schifo musicale e non che c'è oggi).. mi fa molto piacere! Hands down, best cover of this song I've seen. Very difficult song to play if you do it right. I've been trying to get it right for over 25 years, and she still does it better.
