Yeah, Metallica came later but Nicko stayed quite youthful and energetic as a drummer. I don't think it is just his obvious strength, like athletes good drummers seem to be very relaxed and controlled with skilled and efficient movements. You don't waste energy, you place energy.

Disciple and self care and good in-ear monitors. It's hard job even though Bruce is like man of steel, vocally. I think his voice has thinned a bit (some nights he's a bit raspy and papery) but he doesn't push it as hard as he did when very young. He's quite resilient when you consider his eighties shows could be way less consistent. I think they even have a few good years left, but let's not take them for granted!

I never fail to be astounded by Bruce's voice. He just doesn't age it seems. He sounds damn near as good here as he did in the early 2000s. And the band is, like always, in top form. Unreal. I hope I get to catch them once again before they retire. Which, with performances like this, isn't likely to be anytime soon!

On the reunion tour the fanclub encouraged everyone to travel from the UK to Paris, because there weren't any UK gigs. We all tramped over there and had a great time, but Bruce didn't say one word in English to the crowd. But here he is, perfectly happy to speak English. He is one of the biggest cnts in music.

So glad Maiden is still mostly all regular band members (from 83 to now) unlike priest which I like so much but as a vintage priest fan imho should quit...
