Iron Man saved Downey's career. I mean who would ever thought that he would have a blockbuster movie enterprise. He is a good actor no doubt. But he had some major issues in the past that really slowed him down.. And just when we thought he was out. Behold a comic base movie!!! Great to see a come back kid!!!

it is the people who tend to typecast an actor for some role that would make no sense to an actor like RDJ...people forget everybody else who did screen test for iron man role couldnot clear it as RDJ did...so there is nothing like oh this role gave him his comeback!!...I think that's why he was thankful to tropic thunder film makers to give him different role...or other roles that kept going for him...if it wouldn't be iron man there would have been something else...didnt jon mention that it was dicey to make such movie and 2 people who were passionate about it were him and RDJ...besides comics are for kids...kids look for fights...teenagers look for my be tech related thing...mature audience look for intelligence and life affairs...movie had all these aspects....comics may have been kids thing...
