Other than being rushed, I do feel that this is a logical course for both Obadiah and Justin because at the end of the say, they are not supervillains but businessmen trying to climb up to the top. Obadiah sees dollar signs on all of Stark tech but never consider all the costs while Justin is a weasel who will kill to stay alive.

Plus it clear at their been a third season it clear Whitney would most likely be the main villain as they seemed to set her up being the big bad due to Tony fault for not stopping to realize his own actions led to it
@davisdf3064Ай бұрын
@@comicbookreviewer4856 There was also that one goth girl with her brother being an Android. While Tony stopped her in that episode, the woman who took her to a "mental institution" was also an android, probably made by her too. So if the show had a third season, she would probably come back as a major villain.

I find that if a certain minority group character takes a certain role in an episode about something like racism, it's rarely a coincidence or unintended. Look at Teen Titans. It's too perfect when the alien ("illegal" alien depending on how you view Starfire's status on Earth) in Independence Day reminds the American Titans about the basis of American democracy or in Troq, it's Cyborg who is the one Starfire talks to about the racism she faces as a Tamaranian. It's a long way to say that I think Rhodey being on Jean's side is deliberate in the stand ins for racism and being "othered", and you aren't looking too much into it.

14:14 In the days of future past comic all superpowers people were hunted down and captured or kill not just mutants, I agree with some people that the mutants allegory is flawed in most aspects because most people not like them is very understandable because a woman who can control the storm and a guy who has built in blades in his body and can’t be easily kill by normal means and you would be afraid of that and not even talking about the mutants who use there power for evil or people who can’t control their power and end up hurting people , but most X men story (at least the one i see in the movie or some shows and some comic that I see on KZbin so. If there are story that brings this up let me know)they treat them like they don’t have a bit of a good reason to hate them.

11:31 that episode is my all time favorite ever! Jean Grey working with Team Iron Man to take down Magneto?! Talk about uber cool! Pepper’s minor mischaracterization aside, I love this episode. Plus, it makes sense for Rhodey to stand up for Jean. In the comics, he was always picked on in school for being black as a kid. That’s why his mom and him moved to Manhattan prior to the start of this series. Plus, I started shipping Jean with Rhodey from this point on.

its funny to me that pepper had an issue in the first place. I'm a black and Puerto Rican, Bisexual American male. To say that I've dealt with my fair share of discrimination would be an understatement. I have literally fought for and defended people from various walk of life and have had to snatch my respect from bigots. That said, I find it annoying that i need to go to other countries to just be considered American (without an adjacent ethnic title) . Regardless i often tell (white) women that contrary to how things are portrayed, they too are one of the groups that has some idea of what its like to be "another race", and are yet another one of the groups subjected to the tyranny oppression and bigotry found so commonplace in this world. As such, i think its hilarious that they had Rhodes on one side and pepper on the other.

That’s literally my thoughts exactly as I have definitely ran into this issue and was along a similar thought process while rewatching this episode hence why I pointed it out

Okay a couple of things: a) Not a fan of this passive attitude that some people have where the black character has to always be the victim. Like because Rhodey is black he understands what Jean went through? Seriously? b) Marvel has a problem where Mutants are persecuted and no other super heroes are.........yeah no. Have you ever heard of the Daily Bugle. Y'know thwip thwip. How about the Hulk Busters, ever heard of them? Runaways? Civil War? 1 not 2.

Spider-Man doesn't get persecuted for his powers, JJ is just against vigilantism as a concept.

I don’t think Spider-Man is that good of an example. J. Jonah doesn’t hate spidey cause of his powers, he hates vigilantes. Secondly, he’s only really hated by JJ, rogues gallery not withstanding. It’s shown multiple times over that Spider-Man is universally loved by the average New Yorker

What I do get about this Tony or the MCU one for that matter is... Why is he anti weapon sakes but pro arms race... don't get me wrong IRL both can be good or bad just depends of the unique situation... But Man IRL weapon sales are far less scary then Arms races... Like for example to get gift old soviet stuff to Ukraine a few nations had to play a game of telephone and break some laws to give Ukraine some stuff they haven't used in a decade that Ukraine made forever ago... Pretty much Arms sales are extremely regulated IRL where as Arms races are the stuff of nightmares so much so the US won the Cold War mainly because it one the arms race now the US is low key so far ahead because we never really stoped the arm race that we are doing it again to littly everyone... Like the US being in a Tony stark never ending arms race is far more scary. Then us only seling weapons to freinds with tons and strings and red tape pretty much saying don't use our stuff for evil or we'll be mad at you. Which this show engage really well like the fact that the main 3 companies sell weapons does not matter much but to give Tony a reaon to fight... The fact that Tony can't help but engage in an arms race does.
