1:54 - 2:02, arguably the iciest suit up of Tony Stark in my book. The sheer determination in his eyes are amazing. This movie aged like fine wine.

If you understand mechanical engineering on any level then you will feel delighted at how to suit comes together. An example would be the leg hardware coming together by a screw type device turning and pulling the suit in through hooks that you can actually see! Same thing when the impact at 1:42 pulls the suit together. They clearly brought in real mechanical engineers to work with CGI artists for believability.

Curious as to your thoughts regarding the nanosuits in later films
@ejkk9513
@ejkk9513 2 жыл бұрын
@@Zlarel I mean... don't get me wrong. Non of this is remotely possible. We can't even build the Mark 1 suit let alone the later Nanotech suits. The "arch reactor" is complete science fiction. I don't understand how something that supplies electrical power to the suit also provides thrust so he can fly? How is that possible? When he flies, it looks like he has rockets attached to his limbs but it's all powered by the arch reactor? We haven't discovered an element that can sustain that much power in such a small package. I'm more impressed by the mechanical nature of how the suit in the early films bolt together. They put real thought into how this suit would come together to create a harmonized, complete unit. I have no doubt mechanical engineers tried to make that as believable as possible. The rest...? Completely impossible. At least for now.

It’s crazy to think that, at the time this was made, this was Marvel’s biggest gamble. Not just setting up for an entire universe, but using a Marvel character that wasn’t particularly A-List back then (Iron Man was known, but not as popular as say Spider-Man or the Hulk) as well as using an actor that had made a lot of questionable choices in the past. And look what it all added up to.

The acting in this scene is awesome. Tony looks like he's both present and absent at the same time. His eyes are shifting back and forth between the screen and his armor. But it's the look of anger and determination in his eyes that shows how focused he is and creates a great sense of anticipation that something epic is about to happen.

This is still my favorite scene in the MCU, honest to God. No character had ever exhibited so much raw aggression and conviction than Tony did in this scene. His anger and guilt outweighed his fears, he's going to do something, and he's going to do it NOW...the very moment his repulsors started working.
@korinholio

This is exactly why I return to this scene. His acting was so perfect. There will be no one to replace him in this role. How he keeps adjusting, flex...frustration...anger...builds...i created this problem....crank...flex....finally tosses the screwdriver....then the chest piece hits, he does this shoulder shrug/flex/stretch I've done so many times putting on my own body armor, feeling the weight, ensuring range of movement, then the moment that helmet hits...mirroring his face perfectly....thinking...I'm gonna go sort some assholes out...the best.

0:54 "There is very little hope for these refugees. Refugees who can only wonder who, if anyone, will help." - When the reporter says "who", Tony sees himself in the glass. His reflection says "Tony Stark can help". But Tony doesn't agree after realizing that he "had become a part of the system that is comfortable with the zero accountability". So he shatters the glass, destroying his reflection (the old self). He starts fresh as Iron Man.

The suit assembly from the first Avengers is a bit cooler then this. Well, in the movie is was disassembly, as he walked along a path. That had a logical progression from this, and so did the Iron Man 3 suit. But, the Nano-tech completely ruins the idea of iron man. He may as well just borrow a suit from Black Panther at this point.

I prefer the nuts-and-bolts suits the most, though to some extent every sequel had a progressive and measurable advancement in technology. If Stark was to make a last suit that reaches the pinnacle of technology, rivaling Vibranium, Asgardian materials, and Alien Technology, it should be the Nanosuit.
