Another great video review.👍🏽 If you had to choose between the Iron Will, A-Tac and Exodus which one and why?
@LuskArcheryAdventures6 жыл бұрын
That's a good question, Marcia. If I only had $40, then it would be the Exodus. That's the highest quality head for the price on the market. If I had $100, then it would be the Iron Will for sure. It's pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for.

Which one is quieter the solid or the vented?
@LuskArcheryAdventures3 жыл бұрын
The solids are always quieter. But my vanes make more noise than the heads, so I don't care about broadhead noise at all.

@LuskArcheryAdventures5 жыл бұрын
For whitetail, I would have to go with either an Afflictor or Sevr 1.5 or 1.7...or a Solid Legend or Tooth of the Arrow XL.

james smith Hey James. I’m using the same setup I used last year. I toyed with some changes but came back to it. Easton 330 Hexx with 75 gr Brass Insert and 125 gr heads. 3 Blazers on helically. Pulling 73# and speed of 280. What about you?

Did you notice a difference in sound between the two broadheads while they were in flight?
@LuskArcheryAdventures4 жыл бұрын
I really couldn't notice a difference, but I was outdoors and use helical blazer vanes which are pretty loud themselves. I know the solid is quieter in theory. But I really don't worry about broadhead noise. I think it's a non issue.

I have the vented Iron Wills. This isn't enough to get me to cash in and take the solids. Oh well good to see that they perform as well!
@LuskArcheryAdventures6 жыл бұрын
Completely agree. I am very happy with the vented model. While I've not done any durability testing on the solid, I think I prefer the steel ferrule over the titanium one. They are both fantastic, but I don't see any need to switch to the solids either. The flight noise with the vented model has never bothered me.

Friend, please explain! There is a great rivalry, so to speak, about hunting tips, between mechanics and fixed, in your opinion which is the best hunting tip for you, for hunting wild boars.
@LuskArcheryAdventures6 жыл бұрын
Hey Marco. Good to hear from you again! I changed channels and hoped you would find my new one :) For hogs under 150 pounds, mechanicals do a great job. But when they get bigger than that, I only use a super strong fixed blade. The mechanicals just don't have the durability and penetration ability to do the job on a big hog with thick shoulder plates.

@donovanstockton446 жыл бұрын
Your videos are really fun. Ok, so it doesn't seem like there's an aerodynamic advantage of the vented over solid. What about the sound? I've become so obsessed with noise that I traded a new bow this year for one from last season for the sole reason of reduced noise. I'm asking because I would love to have whitetail deer not know what is coming there way until too late.
@LuskArcheryAdventures6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Donovan. I really appreciate you watching and commenting. I have found that both the vented and non vented fly equally well out to 80 yards. The vented are slightly louder in flight. However, that sound is completely different from bow noise. Bow noise is generated upon your release, but arrow noise is generated upon flight, so it is no where near as "sudden." Thus, even IF the animal hears it, it doesn't spook animals like a "thump" or "crack" or "twang" sound does--it's more of a buzz and impossible to locate because it is moving so quickly. I have total confidence shooting a pronghorn or elk at 100 yards with it, so a whitetail at 20-40 yards is a non issue.
@dmoncada27345 жыл бұрын
Hello and thank you for taking the time to make videos. I’m looking for your opinion on the cutthroat vs the iron will. Other than the single vs double bevel I’d like to hear what you have to say. Oh and BTY the mic is fine, I’m not watching for sound quality, I’m watching because you have great reviews!!! Dave
@LuskArcheryAdventures5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Dave. Much appreciated.They are both great heads, as you know. For N American game, with my set up, I prefer the Iron Will. I am not really impressed with the entrance hole of a two blade head, unless it has a really wide cut like a German Kinetics XL. That 3/4" bleeder of the Iron Will does open up the hole a bit more and provides a bit more blood letting.
@jordanpowell2285 жыл бұрын
Why is that i feel these iron will style broadheads are only for trad gear or if your shooting lincoln logs and have a total arrow weight of more than 500 grains? Are these heads good for your average whitetail guy shooting a 420 grain arrow?
@LuskArcheryAdventures5 жыл бұрын
That's a fair question to ask, Jordan. They will certainly get the job done on any animal; the penetration is so incredible, there's not much on a whitetail that could stop them...and 420 grains is plenty to drive them deep and through on most shots. That being said, I do prefer a wider cut on whitetails, because penetration is not that much of an issue. Does that make sense?
