Why was demon form bad there aeo act 1

I believe its because he has spot weak and burning pact in his deck already, which allow for scaling in longer fights yet still play in faster (basically every act 2) fights. So demon form is basically taking a curse for scaling that isn't needed

Exactly. Spot weakness + Headbutt means strenght scaling for long fights is online already. Demon Form is best when you have lots of sustain (especially Reaper) such that you can mitigate the damage loss of having and playing it. This deck does not have that luxary.
