As always, we appreciate you going in depth to show us how to take care of these boats. For anyone that doesn't know or is new to the channel. This guy is the realist, as they come. He helped walk me through fixing my damaged Rudder, propeller. And hull on my proboat impulse 32. Which he really didn't have to do I am forever grateful.

Thanks for the help with my damaged hull. I purchased a used Sonicwake that hadn’t been run in over three years. I literally had to drive the flex cable out of the stuffing tube. I sanded the cable to get the rust off before I greased it. I just ordered a new stuffing tube and a spare cable just in case. Grease, grease, grease!

I use 40% silver solder on the tip of the flex cable. Yes it stop it crushing, as you said, but also saves a slipping coupler as it thickens it up a tad..

Yep that's exactly what I do, works like a charm

My bushing was loose from the factory. Popped right out the first time I greased the boat. Do you recommend me gluing it back in or leaving it spinning? Thanks
@IRONCLADRC5 ай бұрын
It will work either way, if you glue it in , make sure the top hole is lined up with the grease fitting

Big B , thanks for this really useful tutorial . I am a newbie , the question is that with the 1.5mm gap , what is stopping the bushing from slipping out from the strut ? How come it stays in the strut if it free to rotate ? Thank you
@IRONCLADRC6 ай бұрын
The bushing floats around in there, same with my ul19, bj42 bj24 with speed master bushings, it's okay for the bushing to float around.

What boat do you like better Recoail 2 or the V2 Blackjack 24?
@IRONCLADRC6 ай бұрын
Dam, that's a tough question! Stock out the box, speed the Bj24 takes it, handling the R2. As far as build quality goes, I think the blackjack 24 is where it's at.

How about marking the bushing so you know that the holes are lined up after spinning

You got that right! I use that hammer for my props too. Very useful.

Good reminders: grease and don't over tighten. Even the prop locknut doesn't have to be gorilla tight.
