In the twin cams if it's in a Softail it's a "B" motor. The "B" just means it's internally balanced. The Softail engines are rigid mounted so they had to put a balancer inside them. The Dynas and touring bikes have what everyone calls the "A" motor which doesn't have an internal balancer. On the sporty's I would do exactly what you're thinking. Keep the stock one "stock". And chop the chopper. 👍
