"Lights and sounds gimmicks" This was my first-ever Transformer, and I played with this to its eventual death. I do not remember any lights at ALL on this toy. *But more sounds than your body has room for.*

I did that with Jetfire. Jetfire is my least favorite Energon figure. His robot mode sucks. Two of them combined equals double the suckiness.

I only remember this guy because I had a macdonalds toy of him and the sound it made followed me into a nightmare where I was on trial in springfield, Homer was looking around dressed like a college graduate and I broke Bart's 'first toy' and he let me now before I got up.

I always preferred Ironhide as legs with my jetfire. However, there is an extra detail you can do to hide the fists on the legs; the fists are panels that you can actually flip down to fill the spot where the feet were previously.

I think Ironhide looks so much better when you fold out his legs to start forming his pants-mode. He looks so much taller. That's how I would have him on my shelf.

Oh good, Energon Ironhide and Jetfire! I have a lot of love for this set. It has its issues, but the combined mode (Jetfire-shirtXIronhide-pants) is nice and big a chunky. Throw in Dotm HA Whirl for a gun.

Maybe because he's not like the other incarnations of Ironhide we've seen.I grew up with the Energon incarnation (voiced by Matt Hill),who was an Autobot rookie just eager to prove his mettle.Just because one incarnation of a certain Transformer is different than the rest of his incarnations doesn't mean you should hate him for it.While other Ironhide incarnations were tough and strong,this particular incarnation is a young,impetuous Autobot rookie who idolises Hot Shot and is eager to prove his mettle,and that's okay with me.
