Lyrics [Verse 1] You'll take my life, but I'll take yours too You'll fire your musket, but I'll run you through So when you're waiting for the next attack You'd better stand, there's no turning back The bugle sounds, the charge begins But on this battlefield, no one wins The smell of acrid smoke and horse's breath As I plunge on into certain death [Refrain] Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh [Verse 2] The horse, he sweats with fear, we break to run The mighty roar of the Russian guns And as we race towards the human wall The screams of pain as my comrades fall We hurdle bodies that lay on the ground And the Russians fire another round We get so near, yet so far away We won't live to fight another day [Refrain] Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh [Instrumental Break] [Guitar Solo] [Guitar Solo] [Verse 3] We get so close, near enough to fight When a Russian gets me in his sights He pulls the trigger and I feel the blow A burst of rounds takes my horse below And as I lay there, gazing at the sky My body's numb and my throat is dry And as I lay forgotten and alone Without a tear, I draw my parting groan [Refrain] Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh

The coolest part of this music video, in my opinion, is at 2:38. I think it’s pretty awesome how the one soldier, who’s on the ground- presumably dying- passes the British flag to the other soldier who’s riding forward.. It’s like, “I may be about to die, but keep the colors charging forward!” I’m not British but I admire that sense of patriotism.

Have you ever wondered where your soul goes after this life? We are sinners despite any tiny sins we commit like lying, bad thoughts, or cussing. It doesn't even matter how many good deeds we do because one little sin is bad enough already. We cannot make it up to heaven on our own will. Our God, Jesus Christ, decided to come down to Earth as a SINLESS human and sacrificed His life for our sins. Then He resurrected three days later! Therefore if you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is your Savior, you'll definitely have eternal life. Your existence is proof that God is real. Consider this: A creation like you have a Creator. Only in the Bible does it mention that God is the Creator of mankind. God is the only one who can create your body, your organs, your features, your blood, and fingerprints. That is why nobody has the same finger prints nor DNA as you. Fashionable doesn't always mean good (i.e. Mullets and pants down below the butt,) which was kinda my point. Yes, that was the fashion, and yes, they wore it to piss off their parents, but still, it was rather ugly clothing.

The Trooper is a tone poem. Every musical element represents an action in battle -- the drums are the cannon blasts and rifle shots, the bass is the charge of the galloping cavalry, the guitars are the buglers and cavalry soldiers facing death, Dickinson ties it all together with emotionally narrative oratorio. It cannot be overstated how this song is the culmination of Steve Harris' genius, it is a modern masterpiece and arguably the greatest conceived rock song of all time.
@jamesgreenberg4786 Жыл бұрын
Harris continued writing leitmotifs on Piece of Mind -- in Where Eagles Dare, the bridge section after the first two verses has the guitars evoking paratroopers jumping from planes. Other bands have done similar, Metallica's guitars mimicking machine guns in the end section of One, for example. But Iron Maiden developed the idea most completely.

If I was a President of Russia I would give Iron Maiden a "Hero Star" - the highest decoration in Russia (sort of "Purple Heart" in USA) for a perfect historical song of another Russian victory over NATO countries. In 1856 Crimea was won by the Russians from the Brits, France and Osmans in uneven fights for the Russians, with the most casualties and worst armaments. Then, in 1954, USSR president Khrushchev, being Ukrainian, signed Crimea to Ukraine - he stole it, just as Ukrainian Bolsheviks signed Russian territories to Ukraine in 1920s - today's Eastern Ukraine. The majority of the population in Eastern Ukraine are ethnic Russians on their land, where today the Western Ukrainian nazis from Kiev prohibited Russian language and culture out there. Therefore the Russians from Eastern Ukraine are fighting for their land, language and culture. USA and EU support Western Ukrainian nazis in genocid of Eastern Ukrainians (Russians). 70% of the Crimeans are ethnic Russians. After the USA coup in Kiev in 2014 the Crimeans voted for coming back to Russia. 83,1% of the Crimeans came to vote, 96,77% from them voted for Russia. Crimea came back to Russia, not to Bandera's nazy government in Kiev. If Crimea didn't, the Western Ukrainian nazis would be killing the Crimeans for their Russian identity on their land, as they've been killing for 5 years the Russians in Donbass, Lugansk and other russian parts of Ukraine today.

I would like to thank Iron Maiden for influencing me in writing some of my own lyrics, and just like this awesome band, I am writing my songs based on Historical events, battles and people.

first, I don't have a camera, unless it's my mobile, second, I am not really a top notch singer, learning how to play guitar. I don't have a band or have all the equipment to since I live some distance away from my capital city. and with that I am only self taught at this stage with no-one to teach me how to play guitar, all I have is books that show me the basics and so forth as well as some books that teach me about the chords. So I have a great deal of limitations on what I can do.

I play and sing with you then .....in your band ;-)

Paul There is KZbin. When I was learning metal guitar in the late 70s, there was nothing but magazines with chord charts....And our ears. Up the Irons \m/
