Ironman Is The BEST Way To Play Runescape! - RS3 HCIM #1

After recommending people play ironman mode in RS3 for a year straight, I decided to take my own advice and fall in love with RuneScape all over again. And since the changes to hardcore deaths mean you no longer lose your items on death, what better time to give this higher stakes game mode a shot!

I finished New Foundations in a day, just go to the nearby limestone mine that has a bank deposit nearby to it and mine away. Then just craft away at the fort. AFK-ed both tasks while at work then built the fort when I got home. Also gets more mining and crafting exp and saves the money instead of buying the bricks. That or buy the first chunk and then mine the rest if you don't want to mine the whole stack of materials you need to finish the quest.

Path of the titans has a reboot in the works, currently waiting to see if we're doing anything with GIM and waiting for progress to slow down on the HC before I kick that off.

First thing i like to do on a new ironman is to unlock Anachronia, get that started as fast as possible, early game to help you later on. (said at the beginning of video) UPDATE: Good glad you ended up following my words without even following them lol we think alike i suppose.

This is so good! Thank you. I just started an iron on rs3, got bored of my main because it didn’t feel like I “worked” for things.: just bought bought bought. Watching this video is making me feel like I took a different path in leveling and what to focus on. Is that okay? I’m currently f2p and looking to getting full membership Should I be following a guide?

There's no wrong way to play this game as long and you're enjoying it, each of us taking out own paths is half the fun! Follow a guide if you feel like you'd be stuck otherwise, but if you're having a great time discovering the game yourself then keep at it that way!

im newer to rs3 could you explain the events youre doing in the wilderness a little better. so many things pop up that are events happening idk what ones i can or should do as hcim thanks man enjoyed the vid

Of course, so there's 14 events that the game rotates through at the top of each hour, 4 of these are special events that give a better reward, you can see the events and the rotation on the wiki: runescape.wiki/w/Wilderness_Flash_Events. The safest one is the evil bloodwood tree, but once you have a t70 weapon the star and wildy wyrm events are also doable, just gotta be careful of the wyrm pulling you in.

I don't currently have plans for GIM, if an oppurtunity arises to do something then I might do so, but for now the plan is to work on the HCIM and later this year work on the successor to path of the titans.

At around 1:50 how were you automatically picking up bones and turning them to ashes?

For the evil tree event you gather bones off the ground and grind them to feed the tree, despite having the same icon they aren't normal bones/ashes.

The ones I did up to vanquish are in the next episode of the series, tbh my quest list probably isn't optimal and was mostly made up from just sorting the quest list on the wiki by QP reward (e.g. underground pass, gunnar's ground) and some stuff specific to the magic focus start I'm doing (lunar diplomacy, evil dave's big day out). I would've done different quests if I had a necro focus for example.

After a while you tend to just focus on the game view and the ui around it ends up like having runelite open in OSRS, atleast that's what I've found.

That is very understandable, I do enjoy the freedom of a main but nothing beats the progression feeling of an iron, among some other factors.

@@krityaRS Dealbreaker: no treasure hunter and no treasure hunter fomo promos, no dxp events. Great: more content is actually useful to do. Forces you to gain game knowledge (instead of just going to ge to buy something, you have to find out how to get/make the thing). Instead of money making being basically 90% of your goals, you have lots and lots of goals, making most skills actually useful. Why should I train crafting if I can buy the eof much more easily? Your mileage may vary: some people just wanna pvm and nothing else, so I guess mains are better since you don,t have to spend time making supplies. (Tbh, just play something like poe if that's you)

Playing as an ironman is like you're playing on a private server and all the other players are like basically NPC. Every player should have full access to the game.

Playing as an Ironman is play the game more like it was attended. GE ruins the whole experience. Being able to "buy" most of the game isn't fun but it's the meta.

You know you don't have to wait to buy all the limestone bricks. You can just mine limestone over by the odd old man and chisel them into bricks.
