2.4 Mile Swim, 112 Mile Bike, and a 26.2 Mile Run. I didn't quite have the race I was hoping for but at the end of the day it doesn't matter what the time was, I was just so happy to get to the finish! I did secure my Kona Qualification which was the main goal and I have already signed up for another Ironman! I will keep trying to tackle this distance until I get it right! Sorry for the delay getting this video out, I have been in and out of the hospital since the race dealing with some pretty serious breathing issues. Anyway, thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy!
Ironman Stats:
Swim - 49:05

You did it! For them! (The chickens!) 😂 You earned my respect fully with this race. Despite the fact that your swim contended with some of the best professionals in the sport, and you gained more of a gap on the bike, you are so damn humble about it. Then you even posted about your struggle, and posted a video of yourself in full labored breathing. This was one of the most respectable Ironman videos I’ve ever seen. You didn’t include anyone in the video that didn’t want to be there, you kept the video about your journey despite having permissions to do so freely….beyond EARNING (with a LOT of grit) that spot, you deserved that Kona spot. There are a lot of lessons that you taught here, and people of all experiences and paces can learn from your VERY solid race. Congratulations man, Can’t wait to follow your next race.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I really appreciate you saying that and it means a lot! Sometimes the best races aren't the ones that go perfect from start to finish, but the ones where you have to adapt and find a way to finish. As much as I would have liked to have had the perfect race, I learned so much from this one and still managed to have a good time!

This was your best VLOG yet, documenting 1st hand your suffering on the bike and run was very special and thank you for sharing this with us. Podium place and Kona qualification after a mid race "heart attack", flip!

Fantastic job. That headwind was just brutal. Curious what your thoughts are on the headband. Is is helpful?
@BenTolliday
@BenTolliday 2 ай бұрын
Thank you, it sure was brutal!! To be honest I am not sure about the headband. I usually do not like running with things on my head but I do not mind this one. Does it keep me much cooler, probably not but I am sure it helps a bit. I wish i had a better answer for you but i think the fact that so many people are using them has to be a good sign!
