Maybe it's just me but I felt like I could hear the instrumental itself playing in the background while she was singing, I legit am impressed every time I hear Mouse sing be it her opera voice or her regular voice. Words cannot express how happy I am to be able to listen to her magnificent singing

Seems like she's gotten much better over time though to be fair. I remember times where she said it was REALLY rough to sing like that for too long. Sounds like she doesn't get as winded/strained from it now.

This is crazy good, and mouse is amazing here. Deffo not an opera tho lmao, this is from a musical 😂
@lemonsgalore934 ай бұрын
Mouse sings high on the register comfortably, but she lost her lower register for a good while. So when her health started improving, her lower register stabilised and improved too. And clippers usually refer to that as her opera voice. Cuz she often has to use her lower register for musicals. Technically, you're right, it's not opera but it's catchier than lower register voice. Lols. If you want opera, there are clips of her singing Queen of the night aria, la amour, sempre libera.

Love her voice, she such a great singer but it's not Opera she's singing but the type of singing you find in Broadway musicals.
@BR3D2K1LL4 ай бұрын
By definition, a musical is an opera. Typically a musical would have spoken word segments where an opera is all singing which separates their definition a bit, but the singing would still be considered operatic.
@ornleifs4 ай бұрын
@@BR3D2K1LL Absolutely not it's a totally separate genre and no one in the classical world would ever consider the musical style of singing even close to Operatic. A musical is somewhat close to Operetta but there is still a clear line between those slightly related Genres - Mouse has said that she studied Opera but what what she's doing here has absolutely nothing to do with Operatic singing which sound radically different - She sing very well and has a beautiful voice but calling this operatic singing is is about as right as saying that Elton John is playing classical Piano. For anyone in doubt just look up Maria Callas here on youtube and see if you find any resemblance in the singing style.

@@ornleifs These are the definitions I am referring to: 1.A drama, either tragic or comic, of which music forms an essential part; a drama wholly or mostly sung, consisting of recitative, arias, choruses, duets, trios, etc., with orchestral accompaniment, preludes, and interludes, together with appropriate costumes, scenery, and action; a lyric drama. 2.The score of a musical drama, either written or in print; a play set to music. 3.The house where operas are exhibited. The general categorizations and definitions are quite loose, but I would say they are much more than "slightly" related. In the case of if it is operatic, the voice type for singing an opera is more based on the amount of resonance and vibrato, which Mouse does use here. The New York Times chief classical music critic Anthony Tommasini argues “in opera, music is the driving force; in musical theater, words come first.” While listening to an opera, it typically doesn’t matter what language it’s sung in, so long as you know the basic plot-but in musical theater, the nuance comes from the lyrics. I would argue in this case, this particular musical piece should count as operatic from the vibrato and musical conveyance of emotion. Even experts of opera should agree that it can be a bit of gray area and not just black and white. I would agree though, that many musicals (or at least the ones I have listened to) would not qualify as being operatic.

@@BR3D2K1LL I agree that when it comes to story telling and the drama part these genres are related but I forgot to direct to an actual Operatic singing by Mouse which you can find as "Ironmouse Queen of the night" where she is singing that very difficult aria casually on a cycle stream by Connor and there she sings with a the typical opera voice which is different both in timbre and style than what she's doing here. And on another occasion where she sings it, she mentions that she is now using her Opera voice cause of course Mouse knows the difference it' s just this poster who is ignorant. There's no doubt in my mind that Mouse would have become a great singer if her health had allowed it.
