Lovely ! It makes me think of doing your work in pencil before actually painting. That way you can erase a placement without destroying you piece. Good idea ladies! If you were making many of the molds for your piece ... can you photocopy your first inked paper piece? Then you don’t have to keep inking your molds? Just a thought. Have you done your Transfers with the molds? I’m sure you have ...I’ve probably missed it being a newbie to this world of IODs . I’ve been watching Jami and Zeb for just over a year now. Love this world of IODs ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Is your airdry clay pretty durable??? If I made a pendant for a necklace, would it crumble or break easily?
@IronOrchidDesigns2 жыл бұрын
Hi Koya! Were we talking on Instagram? 😊 You can definitely use the clay to make a pendent, but it can crack and break. We would suggest using something as a backing with the clay OR using resin is great too!♥

Can you let the clay dry in the mold?
@IronOrchidDesigns4 жыл бұрын
Hi June! Here are some thoughts about your question... On thing to consider about leaving the clay to dry in the mould is that it could create issues with cracking and breaking. Clay will fracture as it dries if it has nothing on it. That’s why everyone recommends painting and gluing while the clay is wet. It minimizes shrinkage and cracking. But with that, I would also say this; most of us have experimented to some degree to gain the knowledge we have. Worst case scenario is a crumbled experiment! Best case is we all learn something new! 😄
@IronOrchidDesigns4 жыл бұрын
I wanted to add that if you were working with other mediums like Polymer clay you would be fine to remove after oven dried. Resin you would wait until it's dry as well. 😊
@kimpaynter4 жыл бұрын
Could you use dye or like a food color to the clay you ladies are always have the best ideas ❤️❤️❤️
@IronOrchidDesigns4 жыл бұрын
Hi Kim! Great question. I haven't done it myself, so I asked a few of our stockists to hear their experience. One of our stockists says that she's added IOD ink to the clay by kneading it in, and she thinks food color may work as well. However, in her experience, it takes a lot of ink to change the color and it lightens quite a bit as it dries. Another stockist believes that if you add too much color it could weaken the clay. Hope that helps! If you try it out, let us know what you find! 😄
@kimpaynter4 жыл бұрын
@@IronOrchidDesigns thanks for the information I thought it would be cool to add the color to the clay for the birds in a kinda rainbow it would be fun to try and drying lighter would be cool
