When it comes to the Highway 2000 extension from Williamsfield to Westmoreland is their plans to build a connecting road to Montego Bay or are drivers going to use the existing A2/A1 road?

The Williams field leg will extend to Hodges in Black river at Elizabeth for the next phase. Then one shot from Hodges to connect to the Long hill bypass & ultimately the Montego Bay Perimeter road.

2028 sounds like forever. I was not expecting it to take that long, knowing how efficient the Chinese are.

I suspect its the terrain. All all along the path the area is littered with small hills and valleys that have to be traversed and the approach is to cut through the limestone hills and use that material to fill the sections of the valleys to create a gradual gradient (up and down) through the area. In addition massive drainage systems have to be built below the filled in areas to allow the water to flow as it normally does through the area ( as best as possible)
