I never thought I'd like solo RPGs. Then I spent 3 Friday nights in a row in the Ironlands

My copy of Delve arrived today, so excited. Absolutely love Ironsworn. Definitely the ultimate solo RPG.👍😀

Same here. I usually prefer to print at home, but the price point between just the PDF and PDF+Print was so small, and the toner cost too big. Just a little too much black. I was also cutting and sleeving the updated asset cards, while watching this video. One reason I prefer to print at home is that things update. Sometimes a lot. And, that can be a good thing. It means that the author is paying attention to their audience. And, is supporting the product.

Jeff Eppenbach Hi Jeff. Yes, agreed. Mind you, I’ve loved this game so much that I bought the printed cards and Lodestar too - all good quality prints. Totally sucked in to the ‘Ask the Oracle’ podcast with Shawn and his son too. This, with Geek Gamers vid a while ago, are perfect egs of gameplay.

I ordered a printed copy and gladly paid the fee to have it shipped to me in Germany. Shawn really outdid himself again. I sent my assassin in the citadell of a clan he had trouble with forever to kill their leader and had a blast. Plus all the extra stuff he added, I can't put it down.

I'm so glad you've reviewed Ironsworn and Delve. These are the games that got me into solo rpgs and eventually your channel, having never really played a ttrpg before.

Caddrel Glad to hear that, thanks. These are wonderful products in the (solo) RPG space. I’m looking forward to bringing a play demo soon.

Love the look of Ironsworn and value your comments on and enthusiasm for this game. I have the .pdf, but haven't used it. (I prefer a physical book.) This video convinced me that I need to order physical copies of these books. Thanks for bringing this game to my attention today!

Fred Daniel You are welcome. This is a fantastic product especially for the soloist!

@@GeekGamers01- you have convinced me! I just ordered both books in hard cover. 🙂 Looking forward to your play-thru video. I have said it before, but it bears repeating that I love the way you weave a story during solo play. You have an absolute "gift".

Fred Daniel Thank you, that is so kind. I love stories and as a book editor in the real world I have devoted myself to them in one form or another. I’m so glad to hear you appreciate the content.

I've had the PDFs for some time but am considering picking up the print copies. How have they held up since this video? Are you happy with he print quality?

Looks great! I have a question about the printed books. I see you have both a softcover one and a hard cover one, which lays open better?
@GeekGamers014 жыл бұрын
Kagesh53150 Both are high quality but neither lays particularly flat.

@@GeekGamers01 Thanks for your feedback. I am looking forward to your next video on this game!
@klawzie4 жыл бұрын
If it helps - I have seen posts saying that the binding for the hardcover is very tight and even after much use, it would not lay open. But it is more durable to heavy usage as opposed to the soft cover.
@GeekGamers014 жыл бұрын
Klawzie Persobally I prefer the hardcover (which I didn’t say earlier) but I will say the softcover quality is great. If you watched my recent vid on a different game you will know how much binding breakage bothers me. I’ve had the Ironsworn softcover for a long time and used it a lot and it’s still great quality.
@Kagesh531504 жыл бұрын
@@klawzie This is what I was wondering. I would prefer if the book would lay flat. But if the system is worth it, then I can live with the book not laying flat. Thanks!

Interesting! But not free!😊and yes directive is good since the core book put you in ironsworn land and you need to figure out everything I mean you need material....
@GeekGamers014 жыл бұрын
Pierre Abou Naoum All Ironsworn rules and materials are free for download at the designer’s website, which is listed in my video description. If you want a preprinted book, you will need to get it bound yourself or purchase through drivethrurpg

@@GeekGamers01 I mean the book is not free.
@kevinl6612 жыл бұрын
@@GeekGamers01 This is no longer true (in April 2022): Delve even in electronic form (PDF) is no longer completely free. There is a free "preview" which is only the first two chapters. Both the physical book and the full pdf now require payment. (I'm not complaining -- Shawn has been, and continues to be, incredibly generous with his work and creative energy -- but just correcting in the interest of maintaining accuracy of information.)
