In one of our latest video we visited an estate in Northern, Pa filled with antique cars. One of the cars is a 1940 Chevy Coupe that is stuck in a barn thats collapsing! The 40 chevy was parked in the 1950s due to some mechanical failure. At some point a tree fell on the barn breaking the roof beams. Thankfully the damage was noticed and the roof was propped up with some 4x4s, but the supports were placed so tight against the car that it can not be moved! Today Matt and Steve along with the estate will be attempting to brace up the building and pull the 40 chevy out for the first time in 70 years!!

It's really amazing to know there are still old cars out there to be found in the USA in barns, sheds and buildings that have been sitting for decades. Thanks for sharing these videos.

That's the irony of this whole thing on the old car collecting. The myth that they are super hard to find. A duesenberg a super be sure they're going to be hard to find. Right now I could tell you where there's two very buildable early 70s challengers and a parts car. My builders levels are higher than a lot so maybe all three of them are builders. How about a stockpile 55 56 and 57 Chevy cars. A lot of them are builders. At my beautiful two and a half ton Studebaker truck. Man the list is endless. Just take somebody like myself that's willing to share the information before the thing is auctioned off or sold. I haven't got to what I have. How about some old Ford trucks that's make everybody happy person may have to do a little work and may have to travel more than 10 miles from their driveway.

Wow, never thought I'd see any love for a 40s chevy on iorn trap. I imported a 41 just like this from california to Dublin, Ireland back in 2007. I'm using e39 axles on a homemade box chassis and a ls1 with a six speed manual. Converted it to right hand drive, I'll be an old man if I ever get it finished 😂

Back in my days in early 60s there were quite a few 39, 40 Chevy Coupes seen on the drag strip as gassers or on the streets as nice hot rods. Nice to see a great barn find like this one.

I love this one. I am a Chevy guy and I love this kind of Coupe body style and cars from 1940 to let's say about 52. I think this generation of cars is still underrated. And they were built extremely well and solid. Of course they are not as fancy as the late Fifties finned Beauties but still super cool.

I shared your video with a friend who told me that he didn't want to receive (for free) an early 70's Cutlass convertible. I just closed my eyes, dropped my chin to my chest and silently shook my head. I told him, When someone wants to give you an old car for FREE (particularly a popular one such as the Cutlass) you say, YES! Doesn't matter whether you want it or not. SOMEONE WILL.

With Steve working for you, I bet that it has to be a whole new world for him, I mean, who would ever think that being hired as a mechanic would involve chasing around the country, and digging out old cars and parts from some sketchy dungeons and places where no one has been in a lifetime? Ha ha, and it's got to be exciting as all get out! Great show today, Matt! Thank you for sharing!

@IronTrap Garage , Oh heck yeah it's a lot of hard work! I know kinda what y'all are going through. I used to, in my younger days, have to dig and move stuff by hand, through junk yards to get stuff, and this was in Phoenix, Az in the summertime! Oh, they say it's only 112° out, but when you lay an arm down on a fender and have to quickly lift up because it's hot enough to make you blister under the skin, you know it's hard, tough going. You have your jungles to deal with while we have ours. It's all done for the pleasure of being able to fix up old cars and trucks. Take care you guys, can't wait until you post up your next video!

Charles Chuck Stark I had a 40 Chevy Coupe (Master 85) bought bone stock and drove it from NY to Ft. Ord Calif. for my last year in the Army. Bought in 1975 and had it until 2006. Installed a 69 Camaro front sub-frame, .040 over 350 ci V8, Muncie close ratio 4 speed and a 3:70 9 inch Ford rear axle. Here are a couple of photos that I can find really quick, before and after. Was on the cover of a metal detecting magazine. I'm standing near the pass side door. What a car it was! Now I have a 1997 M-Edition Miata (1 of 3000). Fun car to drive.

Fantastic documentary on how and what it takes to retrieve some of these old cars. But there are tons and tons of these old cars out there. You just have to drive to go get them. I want to see new people get into the car hobby. Why don't we just share these locations where they can find the cars. Especially before they go up for auction and before they are sold so other people have a chance to get them. Don't get me wrong I love it that you showed what it takes to get them out of where they've been buried.

Would have made a great moonshine runner with that cavernous trunk: beef up the leaf springs and upgrade the suspension, jam a 1950s Caddy OHV V-8 ambulance engine in it and leave the patina on it so it looks like an old beater chugging along the road, until you put the hammer down.....

That's most definitely what a survivor looks like cause it looks fully complete from what I can see of it so far...I agree with the small block Chevy V8 engine but I think I'd clean the body up really good and make a sleeper survivor car out of it rolling on 8" rim's with 60s or 70 series tires all the way around it..I'm thinking with today's technology that engine could be redone into a big block 6cylinder engine lol cause those old 250 6cylinder engines upwards to I think a 292 or whatever size they made bigger than a 250 was like a big block 6cylinder engine lol...

When I was small there was an older lady that drove an old 1940s model car it was a teal green color after she died her husband couldn't part with it. So he parked in a shed and it's was still sitting in the shed about 6 years ago her sons wouldn't take it out after their dad died and the 2 son's are now gone and a half brother lives there and guess the old beautiful car still sitting in that shed in Midway Texas it was running when they put it in the shed I'm sure that's not the case no more. It was still beautiful 6 or 7 years ago when I seen it through a crack in the wall of the shed. Crazy how people do over things and they become sentimental to the family. LoL. Crazy
