Many years ago I sat down to watch a crue trime show on tv and was shocked and horrified when the murderer was someone I went to law school with. I kept thinking “I was in this person’s car! I was in this person’s apartment!” Great story telling, as always.

I can tell you from personal experience that when you're being questioned and accused of murder, you don't remember that you can just leave. And if you're innocent and being berated by detectives, that shit is traumatic.

Actually, currently the police can no longer say people should know they were free to leave because the interrogation room wasn’t locked, or any of that. The court had ruled that an ordinary or average person who was taken to the police station and asked questions would assume that he or she wasn’t free to leave. This was just a gimmick used by the police.

@@ll650 interesting. Yea I was 20 years old and my ex had been murdered. We had argued thru texts just hours before it happened. I thought I was just going in to talk to them about who he knew and who didn't like him. Nope, they questioned me for 3 hours and the more I cried the more vicious they were. I had no idea I could just get up and walk away. And they didn't tell me that even when I repeatedly said I wanted to go home. Turns out it was all just a ploy to get me to sign a statement saying that I thought he'd killed himself. They ruled it a suicide and closed his case but still won't release any of the files to his mother. I helped 7 friends get statements notorized saying that they didn't believe it was suicide. They still have his cell phone even though they released all of his other property. And last time I checked, no one can kill themselves and then throw the gun 10 ft across the parking lot. And one of those friends' statements we got notorized and sent to the police said that the gun they found wasn't even his because that friend had possession of my ex's gun at the time. When his mom FINALLY got a lawyer to help her, the cops sent her the file with 98% of it redacted.

I had an acquaintance in HS who stabbed Phora (rapper who also went to my school he’s got enough fame to find him on Google) .. He got off as a minor and his family had money for a lawyer. He ended up killing a homeless man and was sentenced to life….later of course after the first release.. 😡

It’s got love triangles. It’s got petty rich people drama. It’s got a murder in broad daylight. It’s got insanity pleas! Crazy case that could definitely use a crue trime spin!

Hi, I have a suggestion for you that basically pulls two completely separate crime stories surrounding one person. Her name is Melinda Elkins Dawson. He husband was convicted of murdering her mother and she knew he was innocent. She worked for years to get him out of prison and helped to find the real killer. It’s a great story. Years after this, she finds out she’s a “Hicks baby.” That’s a huge rabbit hole in itself. This was a black market baby business. They stole babies from women they had told were born dead and then sold them to families desperate to have a baby. She eventually found out who her bio parents were. It’s crazy that so much has happened to this woman but she’s a bad ass. That’s why I recommend you do a story on her.

I love Crue Trime! You have such a unique way of telling a story that’s both interesting and entertaining. And I don’t know how you do it, but I’m somehow able to watch multiple of these in a row without feeling weighed down and unsettled.
