Irwin Family Gets Emotional Missing Late Dad Steve at Bindi's Wedding (Exclusive)

ET’s Lauren Zima video chatted with Bindi, Terri and Robert Irwin, as well as Bindi’s husband, Chandler Powell, at the family’s Australia Zoo last month. The newlyweds reflected on their wedding day, which came together last minute amid the coronavirus pandemic. Mom Terri and brother Robert shared special memories from the big day, including how they kept late dad Steve’s memory alive during the ceremony. The family got emotional while talking about Steve and how much they missed him during this milestone.

exactly, I feel like nobody realizes that while Bindi had time to make memories with Steve, Robert likely has only very few memories of him, or probably just learns from footage. He was a baby. A lot of people talk about how hard it is to lose a parent, but it's especially hard when you lose a parent you don't really remember yet everyone around you does.

I've always been so sad about that. He has videos, items of Steve's I'm sure, and stories but it's never the same. Bindi had 8 years to *truly* bond with him.

When Steve's friend in the 90's got excited and drove off without paying for fuel, Steve would come in and apologise and pay everytime. My dad would just call Steve from the petrol station at Landsborough. He came right away. Great guy even away from the camera's!

I always thought Teri was beautiful, but she is even more beautiful out of the zoo uniform! The dress or skirt/blouse outfit she wore for the wedding brought out even more of Teri's beauty!!! I truly believe that you are all a soul group who are doing such great work on the planet and that Steve is part of that group who is still working on the other side. I always loved Steve and I felt a connection to him, and I will never forget the moment when I walked into my mom's bedroom and the TV was on and at the bottom of the screen were some words, and all that I saw was "Steve's Final Adventure" and my heart just broke.
