I had no idea who Mike Landau was. I had no idea what fusion music was. A friend told me I should see that. Than I stood first row at a Karizma concert in front of the Marshall JCM900 amp. The first minute was that kind of experience that you never forget in your live. I was completeley blown away. 11 years later I play in a fusion band ;-)

Keeps blowing me away.. Thanks again.. Also wanted to thank Mike for writing such a killer track.. He's the man.. All the best! :)

This strikes me as what Cream would be as a trio if they were starting out now. Great synergy between the players and Irwin knows how to take his time and really build something.

OH...MY...GOD!!! I'M BUZZED!!! That was friggin' AWESOME!!! Never heard of Michael Landau before tonight (I know it's Jack Jones/Irwin Thomas doing a cover). I could not take my head phones off the whole time. I'll be checking out more of Mr. Landau's stuff. That's going on the mp3 player for when I ride the Kwaka.

Great virtuosity Irsy, it's great to see you just cut sick on the solo's! Tone out of both your playing and the amp top notch too!
@irwinthomas16 жыл бұрын
The effects are from a cheesy little Sony GP-5 processor. :-) As far as pickups go front & middle are the new silent Seymour Duncans and the bridge is an old PAF. :) The Suhrs are pretty special.

I have to say I enjoyed this more than the original. Great playing by all. Solid rhythm section and that kind of guitar playing really moves me. Even though no one can touch Vinnie on drums, I prefer the way Johnny plays this. Fantastic.

Irwin (AKA JACK Jones from Southern Sons)is touring Aus with Mossy (Correct me if I'm wrong). Great guitarist and really added some punch to Farnsy's line in the 90's

Hey there spaceman. The cabs on either side of the quad are 'wet' cabs. They only have the 'effects' coming out of those. The center cab is th 'dry' cab. There's a 'tap' off the speaker going to the center cab, feeding the effects and a power amp. Hope this helps.. Thanks a lot. (pedal is a tube screamer) :-)

Daniel. P/Ups are Seymour Duncan Silent Single Coils. Bridge is a Vintage PAF. Amp is my coveted Ulbrick Stadium 120. Hope this helps! All the best! :)

Hey there mate. In this track I'm only using an old TS-808 (Tube Screamer). My pedalboard didn't work, so I had to just bypass it & plug in the little green meanie. laughs Props to Dave's Amps. If you want to know my Mary rig I'm happy to let you know.

Hands down! Amazing and closest performance to the original. So articulate and each nuisance has been played perfectly! I also believe that once you have a Suhr guitar in hands then magical things are bound to happen :)
I'M BUZZED is one of the all time greatest guitar instrumentals, and I've heard Landau himself play it live literally countless times. Irwin bro---you've done your homework and then some & totally absorbed Michael's identity. This alone is a formidable & commendable task for the aspiring student. Now that you have been able to essentially duplicate your hero, the important work before you is to find YOURSELF in the music and play THAT. We already have a Michael Landau, so just be yourself.
