When you mentioned the death of Elvis Presley I knew it was 1977 right off the bat. Most Important Year in Pop Culture(IMO) :1963,1967,1968,1969,1970, 1979,1984,1986,1991. My sister was born in 1975,however IMO outside of the fall Saigon, 1975 is boring year.

For me it's 1993. Nirvana MTV Unplugged performance, start of semi-world peace for awhile, golden age of NES final days mixing into 16bit land of Genesis and SNES. Great video and perspective! Cheers,

Gotta be 1980. Gaming wise for Pac-Man alone but Berserk, Missile Command and Battlezone were big too! Movie wise you have The Empire Strikes Back and The Shining, and music you had Back in Black by AC/DC, Ozzy’s Blizzard of Ozz, Judas Priest’s British Steel and Iron Maiden’s debut along with late disco hits like Funkytown and Another One Bites the Dust, and finally sports you have the Miracle on Ice and Magic Johnson winning the championship in his rookie year!
