My IS 250 is plenty damn fast. Especially in sport mode and takes curves like there is no tomorrow. I have a RX 350 also and I like my IS250 better. Put the car in second and do 0 to 60

I must suck as I own an IS250 and get clowned on often because it’s not a 350. Okay well I don’t really get made fun of for it. I still love it and it’s been reliable as I maintain it.

Haha yeah it’s funny how much hate the IS 250 gets. I’m not into hating on people! Just comparing the 2 here, but believe it or not I’m in a 2014 IS 250 now but that’s because again it was well below market value and right now the 350’s are way more pricey in NZ. The second gens are a lot more similar in price, but 3rd gens the 350 is a lot more expensive. Mate, if you’re happy and you know it, enjoy your two fiddy!

Hi Sammy, you sure surprised me with the fuel consumption comparo but it is backed by the factory specs! Of course another couple of reasons for buying the twofiddy is (1) you find a low mileage F Sport which ticks all the boxes or (2) you mostly drive it around town and in the 30km/hr daily commute on the motorway! 👍

Hey bro! Good points. I am actually planning a ‘part 2’ on further thoughts after making this video. I agree with your first point, in a sense - if it’s somehow the perfect spec that you want, then that makes sense, the second point I sort of agree with, it’s a rational reason, but I tend to fall back on the ‘300hp for 20mpg vs 200hp for 21mpg’, you still get all the benefits of the 350 at no compromise, so I still wouldn’t pick a 250, but I guess if it’s like the first point, if you find the perfect 250 and you are in traffic all day then that makes sense. Sorry hard to explain in a comment but I’ll touch on that in the part 2 video! Thanks for your comment and those ideas are well worth talking through!

Have a IS250 2010 with 260 thousand kilometres without a hiccup. Great reliability and very economical if you take care of it. Definitely thinking of buying the 350 soon.

As @aneeshprasobhan has pointed out, I did forget to say that one pro for the 250 is that they came in a manual transmission. That is probably one of the few but very important pros of having an IS 250 over an IS 350.

Thanks Sammy, great clip that covers many points people might miss, the DI v PI induction system is the most important IMO. Really excellent, can you confirm please if 3rd gen IS has synthetic leather seats except for the L version ? This is one of the several reasons I looked at GS 350 instead as I believe (happy to be corrected) the 2012 onwards model GS has genuine leather ?

No worries! From my understanding, this is correct. NuLuxe is standard on the 3rd gen IS, and only L versions have genuine leather. NuLuxe isn't really that bad, and is perhaps slightly more forgiving than leather, but maintenance is still required on both genuine and fake leather. Both genuine and fake leather these days also have protective coating on them too to improve durability, but again, still maintain it. The 4th gen GS does come standard with leather, but the 2x 4th gen GS' that I've owned were both L models which had semi-aniline leather - it was extremely, extremely soft and wore very well over time. Still looks like brand new.

Please im in between of making a great choice now but im so so confused guys. Pleased mates, help me choose a car to buy between IS300 and IS250 please. Am at dealer shop now and i don't know which one is a better choice to go for 😢

What do you want me to say? The video tells my opinion! But personally now, I always buy the better deal. So if the IS 250 is 5k below market value and the IS 350 is 2K above market value, then I’d buy the 250 to make money off it. That’s how I’ve managed to buy and sell so many cars. But otherwise, go for the 350

@@sammygoris Sammy you didn't get my question sorry. I said IS300 not 350. I am in between of making a choice about the two cars. I heard IS350 consumes a lot of fuel more than IS300. And I don't like cars that would drain my pocket on gas and IS300 has the same luxurious packages and engine very good too but I don't know which one that is way better to go for. Please help me out in this context. Should I buy IS300 and let go IS250 ?

Hi there, that was my previous IS. It is a 2006 Lexus IS 350 with the 3IS Bumper Conversion. I bought the bumper from CAR-ACT in China. They've been amazing. I've done about 4 conversions through them on GS, IS and CT.

Slow and direct injection only. If you live where it snows then there is some value. Other than that buy a 350 and call it a day

I dont find this a great review. The is250 is plenty smooth, economical and affordable. On normal roads and driving conditions, the 2.5L is plenty competent.

Thanks for your comment, but I think you may have missed the point. It is not claiming that the IS 250 is a bad car, it is just saying that if you can afford an IS 250 and an IS 350, why would buy the IS 250? What benefits does the IS 250 have over the IS 350?
