I remember unlocking the IS-3, I played a few games and it went horrible. So I never played it again and I thought maybe I give it another try and honestly it is very entertaining. Like a little Soviet Maus, the Armour actually works on this tank and it feels as if you really are a heavy tank. Anyway, hope you guys enjoy the video:)

This video shows it quite perfectly what the IS-3 is like. It is nowhere as OP nor a beast as people make it out to be. The tracks and turret are easily destroyed after which you are pretty much dead. The shell is somewhat decent but the reload is horseshit.

Realistically, how much time would it take to go from 0 to this tank, with and without premium?

Depends on the skill you bring in the game as this influence the experience you get. ut i would say if you play it a lot perhaps 3/4 months, propably even more

from my experience, 3-4 months if you grind optimally. im fully f2p, started playing in december 2023, have about 260 hours spread out across both ground and air battles (worth mentioning that those are steam hours, meaning it accounts for all the times i went afk in the main menu or test drove premium vehicles) with most of it being spent in ground arcade rather than realistic, which offers way more rewards. with all that in mind, i'm currently 40k rp away from researching the is-3 after actively avoiding it and prioritising getting other vehicles in the 7.0 br bracket (t-44-100, su-122-54, object 268). meaning that if you really wanted to, you could exclusively play grb, neglect air battles and playing other nations, log in every day to stockpile boosters, and optionally buy a premium account/vehicle to get the is-3 in half my time.
