I’ve ordered the eggshell. Can’t wait to get it. 50m of water resistance doesn’t worry me. It won’t be getting fully submerged having a leather strap. So as long as it can withstand all weathers that’s good enough for me.

Nice watch. I have a 1958 Swiss Avia 35mm. I wear it, but not regularly as it looks very small on my 8.1" wrist . As for 35mm being the perfect size, it's perfect for some people but not for others.

Just ordered mine in eggshell. I have a 7" wrist and my daily watch is a 34mm Tudor date just from the 80's, it's so comfortable and easy to wear, especially in the winter with heavy jackets. I can't do large watches, I just feel silly wearing them. The most I'll do is 38mm dive watch and that's only in the summer when around water. Oh, and be careful of those big shiny dive watches when swimming with Barracudas, they love to take a bite at shiny things.

I love the design so much that I was on the website immediately, where I saw it only has 50 meters of water resistance. I think an exploration and "field" oriented watch needs more than that. It's the same issue I have with the Hamilton field watches. 50 meters just does not scream tool watch to me. It is probably faithful to the original, but we have the tech to make things more durable. If they were going for the faithful reissue, they would have opted for acrylic instead of the sapphire crystal. Still a lovely watch to explore the office.
@jonboy8181

Well it is a field watch and not a diver. So you might get caught in a downpour or cross a stream, maybe fishing. Shouldn’t see anything close to 50 meters. Let’s face it. Unless we are deep sea divers 200 meters is waaay too excessive for just swimming.

I have a thinner wrist and I have not regretted buying 36mm watches. Just disappointed that most of my watches are 39-41mm. My go to for future watches is 36mm. I noticed, at last, that a number of watchmakers are now noticing the customer trend towards smaller watches. About time it is customer driver rather than being determined by the watchmaker.

@@carrerau7138 Your example makes sense. How did Nivada acquire the heritage by buying the name and rights to use the old catalog? Are these current Nivada watches being made in a Nivada production facility? I’m pretty sure it’s a third party producing these watches. That to me, lacks any heritage. Anyways, that’s just my opinion.

It's a nice looker but it is just following the trend for smaller and retro which manufacturers will reverse as soon as the customer gets tired. They'll head back to bigger and more modern looking. As for its history then was then and there's no guarantee it would match the performance of the original especially with only 50m wr. There are watches in the sale on your website for £200 that would beat this and with more proven movements. Pass for now.

@@nicholaschavez6245 Well now you made it about that. Nothing wrong with small watches really but they usually don't go well with most people. If anything, super high end Swiss watchmakers tend to make smaller watches out of tradition, usually non-tool watches (dress watches) are small because it's more about being jewelry, decor or luxury than anything else. Small watches aren't usually specced out or legible for that matter. So... IMO small watches usually indicate some odd traditionalist luxury thing more than anything else.
