Is 7 Combo's Too Many? Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait

This weeks deck tech is on Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait
I wanted to create a budget friendly EDH deck that was fun to play and had as many Combo's as possible.

Looks sick. Definitely giving me inspiration for my Aesi combo which is echoing equation (Augmenter Pugilist is the front side) + Aesi + Tokens from Meloku or Scute Swarm or just having at least 8 creatures on board into lab man.

Thank you. Sounds sweet, there's also the greater good and ominous seas which almost made the cut. You have ominous seas and greater good on the battlefield and as soon as you've drawn 8 cards (which is too easy lol) you create an 8/8 which you sacrifice to greater good which then gets you to draw another 8 cards, so you then create another 8/8 and then sacrifice it to greater good again 😂. As long as you have laboratory Maniac on the board you can draw your whole deck out

I recently started running the ghostly flicker + mystic sanctuary combos in my aesi deck. Usually win with sun scorched desert's etb repeated infinitely.

@firstruleofnerdclub got several combo options. Strongest with a lotus cobra effect on the board. Ghostly flicker + Mystic Sanctuary... + sol ring= infinite landfall without infinite draw. +temple of the false gods= infinite landfall with infinite draw from aesi + lotus cobra/tireless provisioner= infinite mana, card draw, and land etb effects an any land that enters untapped. With sunscorched desert this wins on the stack. The desert is also great with Meloku or Trade Routes combos. Hope this helps. Since I added it it's been netting me even more wins than kodama.

@@firstruleofnerdclub As long as you have half of the combo on the field, you can pretty much tutor for the other half. Spike Feeder and Light of Promise - Infinite lifegain Godo and Helm of the Host - Infinite Combat Heliod and Walking Ballista or Triskelion - Infinite damage Siona, Captain of the Pyleas and Shielded by Faith - Infinite dudes Ivy Lane Denizen and Scurry Oak or Herd Baloth - Infinite dudes Midnight Guard or Village Bell-Ringer and Presence of Gond - Infinite dudes Kiki-Jiki or Elemental Mastery or Splinter Twin and Midnight Guard or Coercive Recruiter or Village Bell-Ringer - Infinite Hasty dudes Drannith Magistrate (first) with Knowledge Pool - locks opponents out of the game Goblin Sharpshooter with Basilisk Collar - repeatable non-indestructible kill with lifegain I'm sure I could put better 2 card combos in but that's just what I had at the time.

@@packer7915 They're sweet, I've used some of those in other decks like kiki-jiki and splinter twin. I'm not sure why some people don't like combos because they make it fun

Why walking atlas (2 mana) and no sakura-tribe elder (1 mana)?

Walking atlas combo's with a bounce land and Retreat to Coralhelm, Steve doesn't also he's 2 mana a forest and colourless. Sakura tribe scout is the 1 mana version of atlas. was able to take a look at your upgraded version throughly and have some questions: 1. regarding land choices: why are you not running field of the dead/glacial chasm/gemstone cavern? has 36 lands really been enough? the "average" edh deck runs 35-36, this is a landfall deck, I would expect it to run 38-42 2. why no sylvan library/mystic remora/rhystic study/cyclonic rift (staples in these colours imo)? 3. why are you not running the one ring? no specific synergy, just a busted card that goes in almost every deck. 4. why no crop rotation to find the lands you need? 5 regarding countermagic: why no force of will? force of negation? pact of negation? all of these are must haves when youre going for a combo imo why is meloku not on the upgraded version?, you could also replace walking atlas with skyshorud ranger

@aklepatzky I didn't choose field of the dead because it's not a creature deck so no point. Glacial chasm I didn't actually think of, it's a good damage protect land but I'd still not put it in. I'm honestly not that bothered about gemstone carverns, the chance of getting it in the starting hand is slim so I'd rather have a basic. 2. The reason I went for less lands, there's loads of cards that bring lands onto the battlefield, I'd rather use them then keep drawing lands when I actually need the next crucial piece to a combo. Asei only cares about them when they enter so doesn't matter if that's from spells or my hand. 3. I don't like sylvan library that's why I didn't add it. I don't see the point in mystic remora or rhystic studies in this deck because asei will draw me all the cards I need so an expense that isn't needed. There is a cyclonic rift in the deck. 4. The one ring is good but same reason as the others. Don't need the draw more important cards 5. Crop rotation is ok but I'd rather have entish restoration where if I pay 3 mana I can get 3 lands 6. I prefer the counter spells I have in this deck. Plain simple counter magic. They're good but it's just personal preference. 7. I just didn't want meloku in this deck. I had enough combos without her, Id rather have an extra card that allows me to play more lands 8. I prefer atlas because you can play his ability on anyone's turn so if I really needed a counterspell but didn't have one I could try to draw to see if I pulled one. That other one is only on my turn
