Is a 30W soldering iron good ENOUGH for electronics???

I'm just trying to address something that was on my mind for a long time. So this video was informative for me as it was for you. I hope you enjoy this small video, that tries to answer some questions.
EDIT: 30W is plenty for electronics, but sometimes the iron doesn't recover heat fast enough. It tries to compensate this shortcoming by getting extremely hot, which can sometimes damage your components. Skip this one, seriously.

It’s a struggle to desolder the lead free beads on boards unless you can go above 450 F

These types of soldering irons can no longer be used in electronics today , yes in the electronics of the past but hopefully they are not applicable today anymore and the fundamental reason is that the heating mode of those Soldering Irons is a tip that is inserted in a tube with a coil that heats when is connected to the wall and that type In principle you have electrical leaks in the tip and can damage today's components such as an IC Transistors etc , that is why a station is needed today a soldering Station not so much to see the temperature on a display etc. More than anything because the element today that heats it is made in a tube of quartz and ceramic and is because the station in self separates the element from the plug on the wall

For small stuff it really does the job. If a ground plane is any larger, it will not deliver.

Will this work for Gameboy Advance motherboard?

It can. But it can get too hot... So I don't recommend it.

Don't use this. The ESD can destroy components on your motherboard. Buy a better soldering iron for working on motherboard, for example Hakko FX-888D.

@@Brian-uq6jm This iron is Grounded, so ESD is not going to be a problem. The high temperature is the problem.

Did you end up using it on your guitar? I just bought this at Home Depot today for a guitar mod I want to do. It was basically the cheapest most basic solder gun they had and I don’t need to solder much other then a small wire here and there. Guitar electronic wire is pretty thin gauge and doesn’t need to be fancy.. Can’t imagine it won’t work.
