Are you thinking of getting a battery operated power screed?
This video will show you how MBW's Battery ScreeDemon does when we use it to screed 1400 sq. ft. of basement floor.
I have timed the actual screeding time so you know how fast or slow it goes for the slump we're using.
You'll see how easy, or hard, it is to operate and how flat it gets the concrete.
You will also get to listen to how quiet or loud it is up close (and personal) haha.
If you're a manufacturer of a battery screed and want us to demo and review it, contact me here:

Watching you guys work (and a few other KZbinrs) I realize how ass backwards the techniques I learned were. I learned how to do flatwork in southern California and for some reason most crews there included so many unnecessary steps. Screed hooks with hanging 2x4's , wood bullfloats followed by fresno's and lots of hand floating and hand trowelling. I did years of flatwork (big money jobs) before I ever saw a power trowel. None of my work was level so power screeds might not have been appropriate but we could have learned a lot from your crew. we always had laser levels on site but never thought to use them to shoot pads and never dared to wet screed by eye. All of the other crews I saw working around our jobs did everything like we did so it just seemed normal. It wasn't until I started travelling out of California until I saw some more efficient methods. Great work guys. I'm wondering if you would pour that loose with 1 or 2 percent fall everywhere?

@@imnothere220 I don't know if this helps, but the average pay for a concrete laborer in the US is about $23 per hour with no benefits (no health insurance, 401k, etc.). If it takes two days, that's about $1,500 for labor. But some of these concrete guys hire a subcontractor for the excavation, so that will subtract from total profit, but if they do the excavation themselves, and they charge $18,000 for a simple garage slab, I would say the owner is making somewhere around $8,000 profit for himself; that's the money left over after paying materials and workers.

@@imnothere220 Brother, these blue collar business owners do very well for themselves here in the US; of course, it also depends on their drive, but I personally know several business owners of home remodeling, plumbing, framers (house framing), and concrete business owners, who make waaaaay more money than I do ($85k salary). But that's not all lol. So, this summer, I tried getting quotes for a second floor addition on my home and for a new concrete driveway. I only got TWO calls back out of more than 20 calls I made. These guys are so busy right now they don't even return calls and one dude even told me he's not accepting new clients. This is why I believe with all my heart that if someone is poor in the USA, it is because they want to be poor. And it is because as the quote says, "Recognizing opportunity is so difficult for most people because it goes around disguised in overalls, looking like hard work!" Wages have gone up a lot too, but about a year and half ago, these laborer jobs were paying $14 - $18 per hour starting, now it's lower to mid twenties, but again, no benefits.
