You gotta have a love to go OTR. Ppl do need to learn to leverage business when in need. Load board can lead in trouble if not experienced. So, I guess it's not technically a commercial vehicle, if you under 10k lbs gross vehicle weight. 2023 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 144" WB Cargo The curb weight for this van is 4,453 pounds.

Believe it or not, a box truck isn’t HEAVILY regulated. If it’s under 26K GVWR you can run it like a cargo van business. To operate for commercial purposes you do need the DOT and MC but there’s a lot of people that’ll hire you under their authority and you can rent a box truck 🤷🏾. I personally started with a 3 quarter ton truck and used the gig apps to fund a trailer to start hotshotting. But renting a box truck and pallet jack to run Amazon relay is a lot more lucrative for sure.

get a chevy express either 2500 or 3500 extended. You’ll be able to do most bog loads with roadiexd or curri. They are cheap to fix and can last a long time

Thanks man. I found a 2011 Chevy Express 2500 in my area for $4300. How possible is it to profit over the initial expenses of insurance, purchasing the vehicle, etc? Is Curri and Roadie enough to make it work? Let me know, thanks.

@ i would start of with a sedan first to see if you are getting orders. Most of these apps depend on areas. some are better than others just depends on the area. Start of with a sedan and than move up to the larger vehicle once you see orders are worth it. Curri from my experience is better with bulkier items, pays alot better, same thing with roadieXD…

If you buy a cargo van, make sure the GVWR is not over 9,500ish??? Otherwise you’re into commercial vehicle regulations.
