I bought VJOYCAR's latest alarm version today (Mar 18, 2022); it will be delivered Mar 23. Local stereo dealer alarm install prices were very high. Plus a modified factory wiring harness might cause problems later on.

@@MikeMu I've been using VJOYCAR DIY2 for awhile now. While it does have some false alarms, I turn down the sensitivity some when in city. The main unit/siren is loud since it's under the hood; only thing inside the cabin is the pressure sensor. I like this alarm for my Tahoe. Tahoe also has a Pioneer DEH-P77DH (DFS alarm) which I connected to a hood pin sensor; output connected to a horn and LED strip. Amazon sells a Viper 3121V ($47), has tilt and shock sensor, 1-way remote, siren. I put this Viper in my bass boat, also added a proximity motion sensor (Omega AU-94TM, $24), and Magnetic Contacts in alarm closed-loop circuit. I helped neighbor install a 3121V on his motorcycle, the tilt setting is pretty sensitive (1 most; 8 least), this could be used for tire theft prevention maybe. Barely move the handlebars and the siren goes off. We did not connect 3121V to the ignition. I installed a 12v switch to simulate the ignition circuit, need to power this line to get into the feature settings.

Right, good target in that case. I've added cellular connected cams in the car since. But I've also just left the area for now so I don't have to worry about the daily break-ins in East Bay.

Thanks for the video. I was considering this as well but I am also in an urban environment, my car is parked in the back lot by the alley so false alarms would likely be quite often. However, I would consider changing the adjustability settings, depending on the time of day.

Winston, the false alarms I had to deal with had to do with the pressure sensor going off due to the windy conditions in SF bay area and how tight the seal was in my vehicle. I got tired of adjusting the pressure sensor, so I just set it to least sensitive, negating pretty much all benefits of it sensing when a window would be shattered.

@@MikeMu Yea, I keep my windows cracked with window visors to keep the rain out. So I turned the pressure sensor down low, and the impact sensor high. I get a few false alarms from the impact sensor since I keep it set sensitive, especially when a loud motorcycle drives by, but I figure, if a motorcycle wants to be loud, my car can make some noise too. :-) The impact sensor should detect window breakage. I'm now looking for another alarm to compliment it. I would like better wireless range, but don't want to pay for a subscription. I keep my alarm fob hanging out of my pocket for better range, and better alert. People also see it hanging at my side, and know that my car is alarmed.

Did you ever modify it? One modification that I did with mine shortly after purchasing it was to fill in the reset button hole with acrylic so that it has to be unscrewed to reset.

As of Jan. 26, 2022 the system is very updated, all components are different. My last trick I put in a Viper costing $650. It caused me lot of bugs and it was installed by a premier stereo/alarm company. I just set up the VjoyCar in my new SUV. It was quite easy, read carefully how to adjust air-pressure sensor and shock sensor this is done through the 2way fob. I would have NEVER had the Viper installed if this system was available.

Let me credit you with not responding to negative remarks. Adults learn if you don't like something say something constructive. That said do you know when the unit is fully charged? Do you wait for the green light to be on, or for both red, and green to be off? Thanks!

Update: My memory is failing, I do not remember exactly what happened. Green light to stay lit was what my model did when plugged in. You can test this by leaving it plugged in for a while. I believe the red light goes out when done charging. Thing with these smaller companies is there may be inconsistency from model to model, and even revisions to the same model over the course of a manufacture period (ie small improvements). My model was CCDIY-V2-FM-9. You will want to try to take it inside the house and keep it plugged in for at least a few hours the first time to ensure max battery life.
