If Apple launches one similar it will be called the first of its kind and remarkable. I don't know why Apple still has a reputation for innovation when almost nothing on them is new. When I bought a Note 3 phone, people made fun of my television that I carried around. Now everyone has a 5.5 inch screen. Size matters. And I would like this thing. Kitchen TV is what I have been using my iPad mini for. This would make a hell of an upgrade. Better for the garage, when I am grilling, and just messing around. But because of the specs being less than that of my Note 3 which I still have had for 3 and a half years, I would wait a year or so and see if they come out with a View 2. Electronics are only designed to last for so long anyway. Eventually the newer operating systems and the apps are too much for the old processors.

Gigging musicians like me have been waiting for something like this. We've tossed our paper music long ago in favor of iPads, but previous tablets have been too small to truly replace paper music. The 18" screen is a huge leap forward. We don't really care about watching videos, we just want to view still pdf's, two pages at a time. Like paper sheet music. So the size is great, the price is getting there, but we need a way to mount it to a music stand.

And like I said before, you can fit enough battery in a tablet that big that it would end up being fine anyway. I've had the tablet for 3 years now and it's ridiculously awesome. My regular TV just sits there unused now. A massive screen, great movie enjoyment and Bluetooth headphones are a must. When I bring it in the car, it looks like a Tesla model S screen. This is an amazing build by Samsung.

If you have a reasonably large bed and you like laying on the side, it would be perfect, but if you have a small bed and like to lay straightly, trying to set it up on a stand would be annoying, and you coeuldn't move when you actually get it to stand because it would fall.

that was the point, I think anyway, it was priced around what an entry level 17.3" laptop went for when it was launched (and has dropped in price to compete), basically this to me is targeted at someone who ONLY uses a computer for Internet browsing and video streaming, it allowed you to get a much larger screen then your typical laptop at this price.

Blue Behemoth it's not, the 13' mobile studio pro destroys the ipad on processing power alone, it's superior ergonomically and has full usage of desktop editing software, there's no comparison here. The ipad is neat, and has a decent pen, but there's nothing "Pro" about it.

I love my Galaxy View! No, it's not terribly portable, but it isn't meant to be. I'm partially disabled and many nights I wake up several times a night due to pain unable to sleep. This tablet is great. When I can't sleep, I just put in my earbuds and find something to watch. It's great. During the day it's very useful for various crafts I like to do including painting. I'll work off of ideas from KZbin how tos and a nice large screen in much easier to see than my little phone. The only drawback to the View is that you cannot use it in portrait mode. Other than that, I give this 5 stars!

I get it. After playing around with the Samsung Family Hub refrigerator with its 21" Android touchscreen I was convinced that having a large tablet display in the kitchen is a great idea... having it built into a refrigerator, not so much. While the Galaxy View is pretty big at 18" I'm Samsung didn't just make it 21" to match the fridge display. I see a lot of comments here of people saying that they think it's too big. I suspect those people are only considering using it like a conventional tablet. Using the Family Hub really underscores the idea that Android doesn't need to be just a handheld device. I have Android boxes attached to all my televisions and love it and I am currently planning to build my own "Family Hub" using a 23" touchscreen monitor connected to a Raspberry Pi.... but if the Pi plan becomes too difficult, I may try using an Android box instead. In fact, if anyone knows a good source of information on how to run a large touchscreen monitor on a Raspberry Pi, please let me know. Thanks for the review. Keep it up!
