Excellent instruction...it not only shows that your back swing doesn't have to be that big but the instructions you gave pull the timing together...so beneficial to see this

More spot-on guidance there. Key things I noticed - yes Christina is getting the lead butt/hip (as you will) thrust back lovely and early, triggering the rest of the down- and through- swing. That then both enables and helps cause the trail shoulder to track down and through. See the excellent steep angle across Christina's shoulders through impact, which is a look-for in any really good swing. So the lead hip both gets out of the way and the bio-mechanics of the matter mean the trail side must drop down just as it should - Trevino would be proud. This is where keeping the head "still" and eyeline back is then so important, as the weight transfers towards target - again part and parcel of the lead hip/trail should action. To me, critical to achieving that is to keep weight well off the toes and into mid-foot or fractionally heel biased, that promotes being able to push that lead hip hard backwards and keep a firm lead side. All that adds up to rotating round your spine as Christina says - and as indeed did Jack Nicklaus. Great stuff! As for a full backswing, the biggest thought to me on that is that it simply creates more time and space to accelerate progressively from transition to impact and so limit the risk of snatching at the it. That's the upside. The downside of a longer swing is that greater chance to go out of whack. The answer, to me, is simply to go just as far as your body wants to and no further.

Best instruction for a short back swing. This will help a lot of golfers.

Compared to your normal swing how many yards are you losing with this shorter swing

A longer backswing (as long as you maintain posture) may provide 5-10 more yards. A shorter backswing with speed and force can be equal. Think John Rahm, one of the longer ball strikers on Tour.
