Makes you appreciate george digweeds shots out to 130 odd yards even more, he made it look easy !

And it makes me wonder whether Jonny and friends are correct to be trying to lead the falling clay - should they rather be trying to calculate DROP of the shot string (which for anyone but the Digger would perhaps be impossible)? Dunno.

I always look forward to new videos. There are so many informative subjects from "how to" videos to gear and gun reviews. These just for fun ones are a great intermission! However, WOW, that was a lot of pink! JC, looks like Ed has joined in.Are you setting a new Euro fashion trend? I can't find those in the US!

As a rifle shooter I would have thought you would have to allow for the ‘drop’, of the shot when estimating lead?
@matthewpribyl51642 ай бұрын
I may have missed it somewhere, I would fine it useful to hear some explanation of ballistics and account for drop in the pattern at distance. Especially in ranges 40-60 yards.

Would like to see a soft patterning board with max, load shells through full chokes at 200 yds or so...maybe 20s as well as 12s (and 10s?). I think that there are hunters out there who will sometimes try very long range shots believing that, if the bird passes through gaps in the pattern there is no harm because individual pellets lack sufficient energy to injure the animal. I suspect that's not the case.
@jimbarbwe1985 Жыл бұрын
You should have got old Sir Georgie Digweed MBE out with you, as after your previous video you and the George-inator are best of friends. G-UNIT could have dusted that bird 100 times out of 100 even at double the distance, with a strong wind, rain, fog, a double rainbow, facing into the sun while using a 24 inch left-handed poachers .410, paired with a mixed bag of damp cartridges all that even after having a very much questionable curry the nigh before, resulting in an absolute killer bout of the old thunder bum. George, what a legend of a man.

Why not not shoot it closer to the apex before it speeds up so much. Once it’s approaching terminal on the way down it’s twice as hard.
@samsawyer2145 Жыл бұрын
Because the pellets may not retain enough energy at that range to break the clay, when it’s dropping and spinning it has more chance of it breaking

Perhaps your looking at this in wrong the way, use the gun like a rifle aim at a point 20 meters above the landing point fire when the target appears say 20 meters above the point of aim, therefore you will get a closer pattern and more chance a hit.

Incredible fun, but completely pointless. I reckon you should have started at 40yds with a standard 28g 7 1/2 where you can break it consistently and then dress back 10yds at a time to see what the max consistent distance is 5 out of 10 and see the difference between a World Champ and good club shot. Maybe food for thought for a future vlog. Give me an invite, I live close by 👍

Yes it is great lads that you can hit the target at that range,but i think it is wrong that at the begining of your show you said that this would be your high pheasant load or go to be. I would not be encouraging people to shoot beyond means for saftey and a clean kill on live quary.

Clearly you are not shooting where chiggers exist if you are wearing short pants and footwear with no socks. In large areas of the U.S. the chigger, a microscopic insect burrows into one's skin in mass and causes a terrible itching for days.
