Thanks for the video. Does the puck need to be visable or a certain distance from your phone? Can I put it in my frunk or glove box?

It just has to be within range of your phone. It does not have to be visible.

As I understand, it's something of a 2FA/MFA (two-factor/multifactor authentication). An Android phone can pair with either vehicle Bluetooth or the Tailwind vehicle sensor, and the Tailwind app/system uses this connection for authenticating automatic opening of a garage door based on proximity (geolocation). The vehicle sensor doesn't connect to the Tailwind device in your garage/home. So if someone steals only your phone and approaches your home, the garage door would not open automatically. The door could be "manually" opened from the app (enable/configure screen lock!). If I understand correctly, the Tailwind vehicle sensor is required for automatic/proximity opening, if you have an iPhone. I don't think you can pair an iPhone with vehicle Bluetooth for your 2FA/MFA. At least that's what I read in a document or possibly heard in the official installation video. In this video, I think Robb said you could do automatic/proximity opening with an iPhone alone (no vehicle or Tailwind sensor Bluetooth)...? I'm not a Tailwind expert or user (yet). I have a Tailwind on order which I'm looking forward to installing.

How does it work with two sensors in two different cars? If one car home the other car leaving would the garage open and close?

Each sensors works independently of each other. If one car leaves, it can auto-close for that car and when it returns, it will auto-open. Also, if you want multiple family members to have same vehicle sensors function, they each need to add the same vehicle sensors to the app on their phone. Make sure you first “share” access to the Tailwind Garage Door first in an Invited user.

can this work with multiple cars? just buy more sensors right? so if it doesn't close auto..then how to close? you still need your opener in your car?

Yes you just need to add more sensors. You can also setup an automation now with Apple Homekit if you have an iPhone. That feature was not available at the time I made this video but it is now.

Why is the Bluetooth feature not compatible with iPhone? The last thing I want to do when upgrading and simplifying with smart products is to buy extra parts that are entirely unnecessary seeing how the technology clearly exists to eliminate that extra sensor since it’s available on Android. You’re cutting the demographic you’re reaching in half by excluding apple users.

It has to do with how Apple deals with Bluetooth permissions. There is nothing Tailwind can do about it. Luckily the bundle makes the sensor just 10 bucks which isn’t a big deal.

Yes, it's mandatory to calculate the distance between you and your configured garage doors.

5ghz is horrible for this stuff

Most routers will let you make a secondary 2 ghz band that uses the same password for smart home devices. They all have issues with 5ghz.

@@robb.sutton you wouldn't want 5ghz anyway. It's low range high bandwidth. You want high range low bandwidth

@@AgentOffice Correct. 5ghz falls off pretty aggressively when you add distance. That is why the routers give the 2ghz option. That said...my phones and computers are on the 5ghz band if not directly wired.

@@AgentOffice It's still working great. They have added HomeKit to it now as well which makes it show up on my Apple CarPlay screen.
