I have an '06 VRSCR Street Rod. It was the first of the series to have the 5 gallon fuel tank, inverted forks and Brembo brakes. With a 40 degree lean angle it absolutely loves high speed sweepers. It's taller than the other models and with mid controls it is very comfortable. I used it as my sole transportation for two years and was commuting 155 miles daily on it. It still puts a smile on my face every time I throw a leg over it.

I've had an 04, 07 and 2 08s in the last 13 years and I loved them all. The 04 with its 180 rear tyre was a little better in the hills, but as I'm not into riding lots of twisty roads, the 3 NRS were the bees knees for me. Only got rid of my last one because I'm getting a little older and the joints are a bit touching nowadays. Great bikes though.... we definitely recommend at least taking one for a ride.

How was the reliability Peter? Any headaches?
@petertaylor2502 жыл бұрын
@@Spartansrule118 none that I would speak of. You will still modify to suit yourself aesthetically just like any other H-D, but the bike itself is great in whatever configuration.
@rogerf7265 Жыл бұрын
@@Spartansrule118 it's the only motorcycle engine that I'm aware of that has passed the Düsseldorf test that requires an engine to complete a 500 hour run that simulates a run on the Autobahn under varying loads and engine speeds up to and including full throttle runs.

I have no problems in the corners with my 2016 vivid black vrscdx. Then again, I also drive tractor trailers. It's all about knowing your vehicle's limitations, and staying within them. No, the VROD will not handle like a sport bike --- then again, it's a power cruiser.

Great video. I own a 2006 with the smaller rear tire. I would be curious how you like the bike with the smaller rear. I am by no means an amazing rider, but I find my bike surprisingly good in corners.

yeah I own a 2005 with a 180 tire. Ive ridden a 2013 night rod with a 240 tire and there is a WORLD of difference in the way the both handle! Vrod with a 180 handles MUCH better than the 240 no question. Putting a 240 on the vrod was a big mistake!

Vrod 2012 muscle denim black here, good review however i disagree on one thing. The handling. My bike carves corners beautifully and cortrolled extremely stable and sure footed, and ive had many 1 litre sports bikes. I would of given the handling an 8 out of 10 personally but everyones gauge on things is different 😂. Best Harley ever produced maybe even motorcycle in general as a few examples have 300 thousand miles and still going at Talladega. Never heard of a motorcycle engine lasting that long, Porche engineering 😁💪🏽

The V isn't nearly as bad in curves as people are led to believe...... yrs ago I was behind one with a 240, I was on 883, on our curviest, all I could do was stay with him, when we got to milder curves he was gone Now I have a V, and after having learned a little about getting power out of and curve handling with crotch rockets......my V has the 180 and mid controls, it is easier to get my butt off the seat and over the side on the V than it is any crotch rocket I've ridden......but the effect is less because of the weight......if I still had the balls to scrap pegs it would put a whoopin on a Sportster It's true that a super skilled rider on a V would be beaten in the curves by a super skilled rider on a RR and probably even on my 750 crotch rocket But 95% of cruiser riders would find themselves with more curve-ability than riding just about any cruiser Kind of sorta similars are kaw meanstreak, and better Zuki M-90, neither as fast or handle as well as the V......the M-109 is probably faster, not sure cause I've never ridden one fast Comfort, I've got the stock wind deflector on mine, it does amazing......I have noticeably less wind on my chest than on my wide glide I'm quite comfortable with stock seat and mid controls, but on a trip the mids would get crampy.....stock highway pegs And now the bad thing about the V.........to actually enjoy that power and not go to jail you must ride on a track or use only 1st-2nd gears......or go to Germany
@stevem4783 Жыл бұрын
V-Rods are faster than M109s all day. Especially the 180 tire models.

Thanks, took me forever to find a true rider's opinion of these. Mostly you find love em hate em camps. I'd been toying with the idea of a v rod muscle but having rode lots and the slender front tire like a Softtail SC It looked to be not a bike for the corner. You confirmed such. While I'm older now and not as likely to drag a knee, I'd still like a bike that can push a corner with respect. I'm still looking for that Street Glide Special review like this one. I've always disliked the inability to see exactly where that front tire is going and given the pot holes here large enough to eat a Yaris, right I'm in no mood to go down on my new bike.

I don’t know why I’m trying to pin the locations in the video, I’ve only been mid and south west and a little mid east. Those tall highways look like some I’ve seen in AZ, TX, and maybe NM or NV but it’s all desert and cacti there. The trees look like some I’ve seen in Los Angeles but the twisty roads and hills looks like MO. Lastly the cheap infrastructure look to it makes me think OK but there’s not enough potholes and OKs all flat.I was thinking west Arkansas or East Texas until I saw the Texas license plates, gotta be east texas
