Is Acrius the NEW DPS King? (Trench Barrel)

Two things:. - Acrius reloads at its RPM. You can melee, shoot-reload, shoot-reload, shoot-melee and lose no DPS. This allows you to fire off the entire reserves without losing any time. - Trench Barrel adds handling to the weapon, which affects the ready speed after the melee, therefore the DPS is slightly higher than said here.

It does, the damage numbers don't show up for them but they do register damage in game. You can only see that numbers at the wipe screen on bosses.

If you test it on a raid boss the dmg numbers for a trench barrel shot should be 128,865 per shot not 106,347 per shot because the 3 pellets are not showing numbers but still register.

You should check it’s DPS with the thunderclap melee and knockout. Knockout turns your regular melee into a powered melee

@@formxr well he said *one of the best damage perks, and it absolutely is. Frenzy is obviously much preferable for a solo player, and it's reload speed buff means you can get back to firing very quickly. Pair that with Clown Cartridge and you have a solo players god roll.

You don’t need to reload all 6 or 3. Acrius fires just as fast while reload cancelling each shot which can still be buffed by trench.

You also should do 3 shots with the buff and three shots without. Stopping to gain TB again lowers your dps on 6 shots!! The best thing to do is have the three shots ready with TB and just shot and reload like you said. And throw TB in there while reloading.

Stopping after 3 shots to regain TB wouldn’t even give you time to take all 6 shots within that window. You will just out right more damage quicker taking 6 shots then stopping to regain the buff.

LOA rate of fire is slower than the time it takes to get off a melee. stopping to melee Caitl would only lose one shot, and it holds 12 base, so, you’d go thru most if not all of your reserves while doing trench barrel. plus its the highest weapon buff in the game at 50%, the trade off for one melee is more than worth it

i just want to leave this here, for hunters you can run void with font of might and the new exotic chest piece, gyrfalcons hauberk, breaking invis for another dmg boost you can get 80% weapon dmg to void weapons and throw on deathbringer. And you can do yeet titan with falling star and legend of acrius with font of might and make that burst dps insane as well.

Just something for the people who don't have the catalyst, reloading one shell at a time then shooting right after doesn't lower your rate of fire ! (i'd still recommend at least one shotgun loader mod). So you could essentially have a 12 to 15 shotgun mag !

acrius is really strong with the new nightstalker exotic. with stylish executioner procced, your melee will weaken a target in addition to giving you trench barrel plus the 35% damage buff

I like this. I like how Acrius does, on paper, have some of, if not, * the * best damage values in the game. But it has drawbacks that makes it not * the * damage option for every situation. Another thing is specifically for Hunter. Combination Blow times 3, Liar's Handshake, you become amplified very easily, plus the ease of getting Font of Might or High Energy Fire with Melee Wellmaker. My first though is Duality dungeon, all melee bosses, lots of ads to proc ability sinergies easily, etc

So we just gonna ignore the fact that Firing Line is 5% total more damage than Frenzy (20% increase vs 15%), and Triple Tap effectively gives 25% more ammo capacity? Great to see that Acrius is solid after all this time, but Clown + Frenzy isn't the best Taipan roll by any means. Acrius could maybe take the cake on burst damage encounters, but sustained encounters still go to linears imo.

LFR still feels like king for dps especially given how easy it is to use. Stormchaser is still doing most dps in the raid groups i've run in. Acrius is close range, needs to hit all pellets, land melees, avoid being stomped, etc

There’s currently a glitch that allows you to shoot right after the new warlock blink melee aspect that gives your shotguns, slug like accuracy. Maybe that would help acrius get perfect headshots.

the weapon does shoot 15 pellets, you can test on a raid boos to find out one shot of Legend into Calli (27,254) - shockwave damage (4,853) / single pellet damage (1,493) = 15 this would change your numbers to: TB Base DMG: body: 128,865 head: 141,015 DPS: body: 104,825 head: 114,709 Total: body: 1,546,380 head: 1,692,180 Reserve Mods Total: body: 1,932,975 head: 2,115,225

Liars Handshake could probably get a Cross-Counter in between shots with a dex mod. That way you can heal throughout the magazine. But this is a great buff, now I can put down Tractor Cannon and now use Font of Might

Try using a one two punch shot swap to heavy, melee with max cross counter on Hunter while using liars, then melee again for the extra melee from liars, the shoot three acrius shots. Probably won’t be able to do it on Karl, he will die but the damage will surely be absurd.

The problem with Acrius as a dps king. Is that you have to use Acrius. Hitting the melee + all shots on bosses like Rhulk might be easy but a boss Oryx can’t be meleed and your not in close enough range to ensure your all pellets will hit. It’s very encounter specific for when it’ll perform as advertised.

I'm sitting on 240 spoils and it's either Acrius or Tarrabah. I'm still leaning towards Tarrabah. Acrius is high DPS but as mentioned, pretty situational. I may regret not getting it, but I wouldn't regret getting Tarrabah (I think).

I get where you’re coming from but I feel like all of this is gonna go out the window come raid day. Most hunters are brobaly gonna have star eater on for all except intro and totems. The dps for all 3 subclasses is just too good to sacrifice. Titans are probably gonna stick to void and bonk purely for survivability. And we all know there’s really only 2 types of raid warlocks lol, chaos reach and the obligatory well

I will say however, running kill clip weapons with gyrfalcon is probably the best option, even linears since starting the charge breaks invis before the shot fires. Something like a kc primary with witherhoard and a firing line linear will be a hard build to top. Plus u can just swap to star eaters right before dps and use quiver. Survivability and solid dps all in 1

Acrius is basically a sword in terms of situations you can use it in, but it lacks the capability to ignore boss stomps, which takes away a lot of the ease of use from it. It does seem to beat Lament in terms of DPS, but Lament also has almost twice the total damage

I can’t imagine it’s gonna be great for rhulk but I might be wrong. Rhulk just moves around too quickly and his glaive has a ton of knock back. I can easily see a situation where you melee rhulk for trench and then he bolts towards one or your teammates way out of range or acrius or you try to smack him and then he smacks you halfway across the arena. Would probably just be a headache trying to make it work.

Ehroar i think you calculated DPS incorrectly. When you tested you were meleeing the air, which means trench wouldn't have proced, so the handling bonus that trench gives out would not have been applied, and the weapon swap speed was skewed lower. Since handling obviously matters for acrius, I think testing DPS with trench proced would result in higher DPS calculations.

Has ehroar covered rain of fire yet as a pve exotic? I was using it during kings fall for day one and it was nice. I paired it with killing tally allowing me to keep x3 for ad/major clear in like totems. It would also allow say reservoir burst to be proced more frequently as well. as well as general up time for weapons with out having to reload anything. Same thing here, shoot 6 acrius shots icarus dash and ur good to go. I get that theres like hunter dodge but with this you can have access to well and it behaves like dragon shadow on a 5 second cd. so for like oryx dps I used all my triple tap linear, than arbalast than icarus dashed and was ready to go for both weapons.
