Thanks for a great chat, James! If you’d like to find out more, obviously check out my book-but also my channel, where I’m planning to put out more videos about the science and ethics of treating ageing very soon. :)

Nice interview. Maybe you could interview Jean Hébert (Replacing_Aging on Twitter) next? He's a neuroscientist and geneticist at Albert Einstein College of Medicine working on cell/tissue replacement to repair and rejuvenate the brain. He also recently released his book 'Replacing Aging', which can be found on Amazon. By the way, Andrew is right that most intelligence-related genes act through development, but if we can replace brain cells/tissue we should be able to get around this. For example, in 2018 a study was published relating the size and structure of neurons to intelligence. When asked about cognitive enhancement one of the co-authors, Michele Giugliano repsonded: 'Theoretically, we can say that with both pluripotent and embryonic stem cells that we can create larger brain cells which, when combined with this recent research, would indicate that we could increase intelligence, this was shown in rodents as we grafted these cells into the brain of mice.'
