Is AI Going To Replace Graphic Designers?

Now that I have learned about AI programs stealing work from artists to create algorithms I am definitely against the use of AI created images. I wanted to make sure that is clear!

I think people are being incredibly naive about this. Of course for the next year or 2 you will still need a tastemaker using these tools but this type of technology grows extremely exponentially. Soon this is going to be so advanced that the value of anyone doing graphic design will plummet…...Even worse, over time this will change/ruin our perception of what art really is. The final product being “impressive” isn’t what art really is….it’s the appreciation for how it was made and the journey it took to come into existence. Just typing in a sentence is the most half ass disposable empty soulless crap.

I agree with u, I think it's a great tool that designers can use for their favour today, but that in the near future will be capable of replacing most designer jobs and that the pay and working coditions will decline. I hope I'm wrong and that designers still hold an important role in the future, but just look at what happend to Translators, most people don't care much about the quality of the design when they only have to pay 15$ for their logo.

Well, it did. It took ALL jobs from designers for marketing companies, it took 40 percent of web design jobs and a lot more. Fuck AI

I think that AI won't replace designer, because designer will be the one who will use AI, because AI won't be as good as standalone tool. You will still need skills to utilize it.

of course the skill of typing, only skilled graphic designers know how to type a phrase into the computer.

It might be a tool today but it will replace most designers and illustrators sooner than you think. This is only the beginning :( this is the car and we are horses.

Unfortunately I think this is likely to be the case. I see too many people judging the AI based on what it can do now, but typography, colours, layout, that will be child's play. It will create totally constient brand designs with a logo and advertisements and everything. In the time it would take to meet and discuss with a designer, companies will be able to have their designs picked and printed. It's as simple as that, it's fast and cheap, the fast food of art I suppose. I love that people want to be optimistic, but it will come a time when big corporations will fight to have people subscribed to their AI for designs and marketing. The only outcome where this benefits artists, is if we can develop our own private AI's or rather, have an AI that learns directly from us. Allowing us to keep our style without it anyone else having access to it unless granted. Otherwise, this is the end of the road for commission art. Web design is becoming as easy as making a powerpoint presentation. I really don't know if there will be a place for us.

Just learn every tutorial s and tools which you think can boosting your knowledge and skills . Tommorow game is about Intelectual Property or own your creative product . High Skilled artits will be and always be needed for every serious oganization/corporation . And since everybody always thinking about having BIG business , so the options will be open for people who qualified in those area

There was a period where people thought tradtional art was dieing and digital art was taking over but this didn't happen. For AI to take over I don't think so but don't feel intimidated to try out new things✨ Tool looks fun😭

I think AI is a big concern for 3D artists, concept artists, and other more literal illustrators. As for graphic design, I think there is so much nuance in brand/collateral design that needs to be precise for the client, you will still need a human to deliver a final product.

I use this AI stuff to quickly get ideas down and see how they would look some are good enough to be finished pieces although its great for inspiration, also would be useful to give a client this and let them make as many iterations as they want until they find something they are happy with and we then go in and make the refinements and nuances, or make it into a 3D model for them, These Ai generated images to me seem like a dream from a machine, and us designers are going to be the dream interpreters

Since AI is still having problems with continuity and consistency from one image to another, I think Designer is still needed right now. Especially if the definition of "designer" in this context is the service provider for small, medium or large corporations. For these groups, consistency is still very much needed. At least if they decide to deploy AI, they still need help correcting or creating a cohesive visual communication tool. Maybe in the lower and cheaper segment, the area will be smaller, because everyone with internet access and want to find out will easily master it.

AI maybe be able to do many things, but they can't copy the visual perception of a graphic designer. It might simplify our work, but can't replace us.

I have already created so many amazing images with AI I'm not sure what I would ask a designer to do for me!! I thought it would look like stick figures and I've already got stuff on my new merch!! I think designers will find ways of using the AI to create even more wild things now!!
