Is Alton Towers Finally Embracing Enthusiasts?

Is Alton Towers undergoing a shift in its approach roller coaster enthusiasts?
Usually secretive, the resort has unveiled exclusive behind the scenes experiences and one of a kind events. From Oblivion and Wicker Man’s lift hill walks to behind the scene of Nemesis Reborn, it is clear there has been a shift in approach.
Are John Burton and Bianca Sammut responsible for this and will Alton towers finally offer something that other parks have for a number of years?

I definitely think so. John Wardley has always engaged with enthusiasts. John Burton and Bianca, the new divisional director, has stated that she loves feedback both positive and negative. Whilst I believe they will continue to engage and listen to enthusiasts, they are not the only demographic they need to consider.

It isn't the only demographic, but the harshest critics! If you please them the public are a piece of cake!

@@CoasterConnections oh definitely the harshest critics! I see enthusiasts knocking rides based on computer animated POVs before they’ve even experienced the ride, ridiculous!

I think they’ve also realised that the marketing world has changed drastically and is very social media based nowadays. So for them, enthusiasts that run social media accounts is basically free marketing and so obviously they’re going to try and maximise that. I think they’ve also realised that the public like to see a single person as the “creator” of the ride and I think they’re really leaning into it now with John Burton and Wardley for nemesis.

I think you are right. Also social media reach is so much more then the traditional enthusiasts so if they can get social media creators excited about something it has a trickle down effect. I just hope it is a success for the resort so we see more of it to come.

Yep they love an enthusiast but are failing on those with additional requirements by limiting numbers for those with additional needs with their discriminatory booking system 😢 Merlin and Towers are getting away with this when Disney are being called out for there changes to access.

There are so many ways Merlin are behind for pre-booking. I have a season pass fro Six Flags, Cedar fair and SeaWorld Parks and don't have to reserve a visit. Merlin still make me pre-book and take away any spontaneity.
