Just hiking up to Scout Point is worth it and totally safe in good weather. Also, it is not subject to the quota restrictions unless you go beyond this point.

You’re right! The only quota I’m worried about is how many snacks I can carry on the hike. Gotta keep my energy up!

I am impressed by the work involved in drilling holes, setting posts in concrete & string the chains------ without the posts & chains.

Having a chain to hold on the climb up may be comforting for some, but not for me. What if that chain is wet? Or what if gets heated up on a hot day so it becomes a problem? I think I am very unlike people who get a thrill from being hundreds of feet above some base elevation so that they can look down. I'd rather be hiking under tall trees. Alongside an active stream alive with fish and waterfowl would be even better.

There are definitely risks of going up but to me it was worth the climb and I didnt always use the chains. They are available if you need them.

You always have the option of not using the chains. Also, you can wear gloves to get a better grip and to protect your hands if the chain is hot.

This park is certainly unique. The access looks dangerous. It is fun to be along the trails with you and experience the thrill. You have reached where angels have trod!😇

Made this climb as well. It was an awesome hike. I don’t think it’s all that dangerous if you’re there when it’s not busy. What made it dangerous was all the people going up and down and the times you have to let go of the chain to let people pass.

It was May 1st when I made this video it wasn't too hot or super busy. You are correct though under busy conditions it gets difficult to negotiate.

Made it in the nineties, this is not a ridge but natural wall, 400m high 6m wide, uneven smooth rock base. Very risky and though ppl stroll there as if it's a walk in the park, they are definitely in a denial mode. To get to the top of the wall the masterminds of USNP installed helical cemented way that leads up the wall. On the way back I made a mistake and tried to get down big rock and found myself hanging over the void. In my opinion a steel pasarela should be installed on the wall, otherwise it should be closed. But in a good note I should mention that as a tourist I had all the info from the VC and have good memories from all these canyons, including this fantastic wall

It's not particularly "dangerous" as it's well protected up and down the exposed parts. You certainly need a head for heights, but the views from the top are fantastic.

I have to write, before finishing the video, that a headline like that seems to be pandering to whining paranoiacs. A ledge is not a knife edge, the top ridge is the knife edge. The video is great, depiction of the finest hike in the world, I loved it, except for the pandering.
