Is anyone there? // Warrior Cats PMV

Another video!
I’ve always wondered why there aren’t a lot of “warriors realizing how difficult clan life is and deciding to live as kittypets/loners” type of stories (Pinestar’s a fun guy for this though)
Like, these cats starve every winter, get into petty fights with pretty serious casualties, and have very closed minds about certain things like beliefs and agency. Why not live as something else?

Flywhisker and Snaptooth, kids of Lionblaze and Cinderheart, left Thunderclan to become kitty pets! Although I do wish we’d have a POV of a cat that feels out of place in the clans entirely :)

To answer your question, I would say because the clans are basically a cult. They are raised in the belive to follow the rules of their religion/sociality, and if they break the rules, they go to hell/dark forest. We as the readers know cats from outside the clans also go to "heaven" and are fine, but not many clan cats know that. The mix of fear and not knowing there is another way is quiet powerfull. But of course, warriors is a childrens book, so clan life is simply the best life and kittypets smell funny.

I love the simple artstyle and color choices, it looks very nice. It's also super cool and unique to see a PMV that plays with a certain concept without being about a specific character. I also think it would be super cool to have an important or POV character who doesn't like clan life and ends up leaving without being treated as wrong by the books(Pinestar was wrong for leaving his mate and kits, but him not wanting to be leader/not liking clan life was totally understandable.) the books treat the clans as some ideal that's inherently better than loners, kittypets, and other cat groups such as the Tribe, and I don't see why.

and their both orange maybe because they are both from kittypet lands? the other kittypet in the animation was green and all the presumably clanborn cats were green or just another character maybe orange just defines mc better so we know who we focus on

Reasons I can think of for why there’s not a lot of cats that leave to join kittypets/loners (based off of me trying to remember the books lmao): Kittypets are looked down on because of their easy and soft lifestyle, they don’t have to work to get their food. The cats like having stuff to do, even kittypets get bored of their own life even if they have a constant supply of food. Firestar was barely older than a kit when he was already bored of his home and food. Even other kittypets worry about their lifestyle, having to go get neutered/spayed and becoming lazy is often something they fear. Loners are a bit different, as usually they’re more well fed since they can hunt anywhere and anytime just for themselves, however that’s the thing, they’re usually by themselves without any other cat. It makes life more dangerous as they’re more vulnerable. Loners tend to join the Clans because they’re much safer in numbers, especially the older loners. However, loners that have others with them, or live in safe spaces are usually perfectly fine with staying as loners. Their life is busy and safe!

All of that to say is that the clan cats really enjoy their life in the clans, even if they must suffer for it. It’s their home and their family that they would leave behind, most likely to never see again. There’s also the fact that their religion and rules pretty much scare them into staying, even though they would still believe in StarClan (which is enough for getting into it once they pass on).
