You're so right that it's ok to just get bored/tired and step away for a bit, especially with games like Apex since BR can get very exhausting. The point is to have fun, and taking breaks is the best way to ensure you'll keep enjoying it in the long run. Might be wrong, but i feel like the "Apex is dying" crowd is being a bit dramatic

Turned this on for a listen while washing dishes lol. I’ve been interested in this topic myself as I am 100% an apex addict. Someone else in the comments mentioned the idea of not loving the game but being addicted to it and that’s where I’ve identified lately lol. For me I play so often but typically solo queue pubs but get super d bag team mates (to be expected) but every now and again I have a really good time. Since the new map came out I’ve played once or twice and that’s uncharacteristic for me but I think it’s because I’ve actually been having fun in other games MWII and Overwatch where my experience is team based but not completely dependent on my team mates to have a good time. If someone rage quits in those games, someone else will take their place quickly and we get back to it. Whereas apex, someone goes off on their own and gets downed then quits right away thus pissing me off and screwing over the rest of the team. Wow this is a long ass comment but anyways thanks for sharing your perspective on this !

Side note: i think the answer to my issue is playing more ranked but I hate that this is the best option. Ranked and pubs have very different gameplay styles and I just want to have a good team experience without having to get in a “ranked” mindset , ya know ? …TED talk over lol

Been a consistent masters player, comp & vnm participant. The game is in trouble... the community discords, lobbies & participants are diminishing at a massive rate. Peak BST (time) over weekends have one very popular discord with less than 40 players online... where a few months back, were hitting numbers 150+. I for one am taking a long break myself.

Yeah its about that time for many people it seems. On the bright side the game is so refreshing after a long break

I think it's gonna be in this weird state like fortnite does.. like yeah people play it.. but are people loving it...? probably not... BUT are they addicted to it? Yes

Lol my apex addiction is real …I think because I primarily play pubs that’s the only reason I’ve put it down recently because I’ve been getting awful team mates (not in the sense of skill but of being D bags lol )

I used to be an arenas sweat I got to D1 and I would be consistently getting bronze and silver teammates every game. While the enemy team were tripe stack diamonds. I often find now I just play a game or two get terrible teammates and get off to play a more fun game recently this has been overwatch.

Apex season launch day peaked at 170k viewers on twitch but after that first day it never went back up to that number. Apex skill based matchmaking is killing it. It’s very unbalanced and stressful. The game still hasn’t released cross progression or 120fps for next gen consoles.

There could be so many cheaters out there and it definitely feels like there are. As someone who has been playing competitively as i can for 18 years, and enjoying "getting good", its just crazy how desperate people are to win, when theyre not even content creators or someone whos going to get something out of winning. Apex has been especially tiring for me as a solo player. Developers need to make long term game plans instead creating an engine that will be instantly outdated and spending all their time working on fixes instead of the actual game. Gaming has just been laughable for a long time now, its kinda sad.

Its ridiculous and only going to get worse. I try not to let it bother me as much cuz theres literally nothing i can do about it but after a certain point i just have to take a step back. There's so much popularity and millions of dollars in gaming now so people have even more reason to lowkey cheat instead of grinding. Its sad

You can take breaks from games. Doesn't mean it's dying though.

Apex has gone to shit. I’ve been playing the game since day 1 and apex has been some of the most fun I’ve had on video games. But I don’t think I’ve had more then a handful of enjoyable matches in the last 6 seasons
