Mark entrance zones (doors - to avoid "person" staying next to it and keeping the lights on) and interference zones (warm/hot lamps/moving drapes or other objects), it should minimise or solve your issues. Since I use FP2 in a small hallway with 7 exits/entrances, I had similar problems of "ghosts" staying in detection zones and keeping the lights on. I still have issues with FP2, but I think it's mainly due to amount of entrances/exits and small space - the squares in the grid are very big, so I can't mark them very precise - for example the mirror in the hallway is next to the entrance, and since I've marked the entrance to ensure that no "ghost" stays in the hallway to keep the light when no one is there, light turns of when I'm standing next to the mirror too. So the bigger the room and less entrances/exits and other moving/warm/hot objects are in the room, the easier it is to set up. But yes, it requires some tinkering.

How do you mark entrance zones and interference zones?
10 ай бұрын
@@CruxofTech Zone Management > New Zone > Attribute and the choose "exits and entrances" or "Interference source". Then mark zones next to exits/entraces as "exits and entrances" and/or any lamps/moving objecs as "interference source". You could choose color for different zones. For example I use blue for detection zones, and red/orange for exits/entrances and interference zones/sources.

@ ahhh, great. Thanks for this, I really appreciate it! I will say that in the last week it has been working quite well. Only a few times has it not worked as it should by not shutting off the lights. Thanks again!!!

The automations in aqara app are great. Using M3 hub.

Very nice! I'm using the M2 Hub. What makes the M3 different and unique. I wonder if it's worth it to upgrade?

I heard that you need to add entrance exits as the device resets the presence when you leave the zone. Also need to mark yr edge zones as that's an area where no should be detected
@CruxofTech8 ай бұрын
Hi! Thanks for your comment. You bring up a great point. I recently added an automation where the sensor resets when presence is detected or absent for a set amount of minutes. Regarding entrance and exit zones, I just set them up, so I'm hoping that helps even more. I did also set my edge zones just now to ensure those areas are properly monitored. Thanks again for the insight!

I used the fp2 last fews weeks, It doesn't work precisely, it doesn't update and it keeps seeing people in an empty room ghosts allthetime, I have to turn off the lights myself, it's not worth the money.

It has been working consistently, for the most part, since I set it up. There has been a few times where it doesn't work as it should.

I have a couple in my house that I’ve been using for the past year. I did have minor issues like that the first month or so but it seems to learn and now they rock solid.

This has been my experience in my bedroom. Ceiling fan and multiple ghosts (says 4 people when there is none) constantly. Even with interference zones marked. It's useless so far.
@CruxofTech5 ай бұрын
Yea you need to keep tinkering to get it just right, it can be a pain for sure.

@@CruxofTech Thanks. I've been tinkering. I can tell you for my small room, the AI person detection is NEEDED in order for it to work correctly. When it's turned off, there are soooo many false positives that it's not useable.

I have the same issues. It worked well as first then starting not really detecting. Been waiting for the new firmware update. I run daily basis automation on Apple Homekit and HA in the back. It works very well.

I will say that as the days went by, the response rate and detection has been much better. I have had very little issues since then, almost as if the sensor learns to detect what is a person and what it isn't. Looks you are having the opposite experience, keep me posted on if it gets any better or worse. Someone commented on how to mark objects and exits so that the sensor doesn't detect them, I have yet to do that but will soon. I will try to pin that comment to the top.

leave it alone for a week then try again, it takes awhile to work

Yea, I did notice that. It seems to be so much better than the first couple of days.

100% they seem to learn. I had minor issues the first month maybe but now they are extremely reliable and I’ve been using two of them in my house for at least a year I’d say.
