This is my Argylle (2024) Movie Review, coming to theaters this weekend. What are your thoughts on Argylle starring Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Henry Cavill, and Bryan Cranston? The following is the summary for this Matthew Vaughn movie: Elly Conway, an introverted spy novelist who seldom leaves her home, is drawn into the real world of espionage when the plots of her books get a little too close to the activities of a sinister underground syndicate. When Aiden, a spy, shows up to save her (he says) from being kidnapped or killed (or both), Elly and her beloved cat Alfie are plunged into a covert world where nothing, and no one, is what it seems.

I went into it with low expectations (even though I like Vaughn), the trailers just did nothing for me, but I ended up having a blast honestly. Not amazing, no, the script is very flawed, but the movie enjoyable, I just turned my brain off and enjoyed good chemistry between the leads and the super stylized action. The third act is wild lol.

My guy! I enjoyed this film! It was crazy and over the top, but I was here for it! I had a great experience because they created an escape from reality and still keep me wondering about the direction of the film in a low-key slapstick comedy sort of way. I was locked in with Sam Rockwell, and he kept me laughing as the film progressed. I don't feel like it was anything more than what it was, but I was entertained, my friend. Keep up the great work, Austin! 🤘🏿😁👍🏿

Argylle was great!!! i didnt have much expectations, but since it was Matthew Vaughn, I could count on the zaniness and clarity of action in his movies..He not only delivered that but the cast deilvered as well....the twists were honestly great and my god the one scene using Leona Lewis version of Run was just masterfully done...glad and I watched it on the big screen..

Personally I loved it. It was over the top and ridiculous but that is exactly what it was advertised as being. It definitely seems like most of the audience in my cinema seemed to like it so perhaps it is just a critics vs audience thing for this film, which happens and there is nothing wrong with that

Just randomly took my girlfriend to this yesterday knowing absolutely nothing about it (we went out to eat and I randomly asked if she wanted to watch a movie and she thought this looked the best). With zero expectations except Henry Cavill (which his very limited roles was quite dishonest in the marketing) it ended up being a lot better than expected. It was nuts and so many ridiculous twists and just plain ridiculousness, but it was fun enough and didn't take itself seriously enough that it was a fun ride. Definitely terrible marketing though.

I really disliked the film. It's just too much and tonally all over the place. The story, dialogue, CGI and green screen was just sloppy. All the twists and turns were so silly and eventually very predictable. Matthew Vaughn needs to take some time off and get out of the spy genre for a while. Thanks for the review!

Well I went because I thought Henry Cavill would be in it more. Once I realized that wasn't going to happen I started appreciating the movie for what it was, more of a comedy rather than a sophisticated spy drama. It was a little corny and over the top, but the music was fun and overall it was just really lighthearted. 😂 i was really confused by all the plot twists though but that made it kind of funny

I really enjoyed this movie. Kept me engaged the entire 2 hours 20. A movie is too long if it contains boring segments and drags on. For me, this did neither. I liked the contrast of Cavill and Rockwell. Fantasy vs Reality. The only scene I initially had a problem with was the smoke scene. Was over the top, until i realized it didnt happen that way. It was the fantasy aspect seeping through. Anyways, a lot of the CGI seemed aimed at the fantasy portion too. Like that scene and the green screen fireworks or novel text. I could see Vaughn's vision and appreciate it
@kadiummusic

@@kadiummusic no it did not. It was Elly's fantasy. Part way through, they cut to Elly and Aiden fighting in a more clumsy, realistic way, no music and grey smoke. Then cut back to all the fanfare fighting which was all in her mind.

I saw it yesterday and I loved every second of the movie. It is a spy spoof, it is a movie that doesn't take itself too seriously, and it is very good at that. Convoluted? No, people complain about everything now, they cannot pay attention to anything for more than 40 minutes. It is a great movie , entertaining and well acted and directed . It is coming to my physical media collection without any doubt. The only disappointment for me was Henry Cavill only appears in a supporting role.

There was a good movie in there, Elly and Argyle (played by either Cavill or Rockwell, not both) were secret agents but she was brainwashed into normality, Cavill has to bring her back to defeat the bad guys. There's your premise alas MIB 2 and take it from there. But no, it's all over the place and can't decide what movie it is and ends up being about 5. I zoned out with the silly shoot em up dance scene and she lifted him above her head... what? And by the time we got to the ice skating my brain was somewhere else, it was like watching a French & Saunders comedy sketch. On a positive note Cavill stole every scene (for the five minutes he's on screen) proving that the Bond team are inept for not already signing him up to be the best Bond ever. He IS 007! Wake up!!

If you look at the poster for this movie, Sam Rockwell's arm is tacked on and it makes it look like he has 3 arms. An elementary mistake from such big studios, but it's a precursor to how insufferable this movie is. Twenty dumpster fires in a row. Don't waste your time and money watching it

This is not my least favourite Vaughn (it’s not as terrible as golden circle was) but it’s really the worst film all of these actors are in. It’s such a mess. Matthew Vaughn has always been messy, but now he is senile too

If it was meant to be a serious spy movie, it was a complete misfire. If it was meant to be a parody, it was also a misfire. Did anyone actually resd the script?

I feel like the screenplay was actively avoiding funny jokes. While watching it, I was writing jokes in my head that were funnier

It was a good ideas poorly executed. It's definitely watchable just sluggish and overlong. Sam Rockwell was the best part.

I have an idea: market your movie with honesty. BUT HOW DO YOU MARKET A BAIT AND SWITCH? I don't know, maybe don't make dumb crap like this?

this movie should have been burned at the rate it wastes talent. The creatives here could take a cue from bollywood when it comes to a multi-genre narrative like argylle. Theyre cringe too but the commercial art style is more controlled

I think John Wick ruined me. Every action scene seems to be sub par in comparison. And I hate the stylized violence. In Suicide Squad and Harley Quinn scene, at least I can understand the over the top craziness. The smoke bomb scene is just silly. The skating in oil - she is 100% clean while she is sliding on the oil? And the writing and the dialogue between the 2 leads were boring before all the plot twist begins… The last 2 Kingsman sequels were pretty forgettable. Like the first Kick Ass, first Kingsman and X-Men First Class, that is about it.

I liked…the cat🩷long live Alfie Several ppl in my theater actually got up and left after the skating scene. I haven’t seen that happen in years. If you like it, good for you but…it was just awful and way too long. It did make me laugh quite a bit, but only because it was so bad it became humorous.
