The game is currently in development stage and the developers are currently optimizing the game for the best experience possible. The game currently doesn't support controllers doesn't mean it won't in the future. New features will be added. Please keep an eye on the official sources to never miss an update. Thank you for your explanation and suggestions.

This really goes to show how much the problem is and has always been the management. Even when Ubi corporate brings on an absolutely legendary developer with an obviously repeatable formula for success, they force their own insane deadlines and restrictions on them, generate *easily* avoidable controversies, and basically just make them into another head of the Ubisoft hydra

I’ve always said that Ubisoft since about 2017 has just been making the worst decisions possible. It’s like their management is on crack, every decision they make is so illogical and just pisses people off. They’ll make ghost recon into a battle royale They make useless rainbow six siege anti cheat They make a pirate game where you’re restricted to a ship which only hinders the pirate experience they’re trying to fulfil And there was that era where after AC Odyssey they thought it’d be really smart to apply the RPG formula to franchises that literally cannot function as RPG’s (ghost recon and far cry new dawn)

This had literally the perfect recipe to be something I would have genuinely loved. Really lore rich story with cool narrative beats and if they just launched on PC I would have really enjoyed the gameplay loop on mouse and keyboard. I'm trying not to negatively hang onto it as much and think about what could have been but it's just so frustrating how this series limits the potential of their games

You hit the nail on the head, to me it seems like Ubisoft want's the mobile crowd without actually realizing their core fanbase comes from PC and Consoles. Like if league of legends can barely survive on mobile I don't know how they think Assassin's Creed can. Also really curious to see how long Ubisoft can sustain this live service format for. Hoyoverse have their 6 weeks update schedule and rarely miss their deadlines, with new areas available every year. Ubisoft is known to at least support their games for a long time (except hyperscape I guess) but yeah interested to see if they can manage their live services for mobile. Also hopefully a PC version is gonna come out in the future.

Yeah, and on smaller screens this game's controls are actually a clusterfuck so lacking controller support effectively limits which players have a comfortable play-experience _even if they have a device strong enough_ to run it. I feel like they'll announce controller support or PC after AC Mirage hype is dead, as at this moment this might impact Mirage sales and divert and prioritize users towards other games like starfield or phantom liberty since Jade is free
@LeoKRogue
@LeoKRogue Жыл бұрын
I don't think Ubisoft are too worried about Jade and Mirage impacting each other at all, they're different games for different playerbases that are going to have minimal overlap. Announcing ports generally happens earlier in marketing cycles and controller support is just a comfort-feature that is standard in most games. Those other gachas I listed like Genshin / Star Rail etc, their beta tests have also been on PC while Jade's hasn't been, which is a very, very bad sign: games usually _want_ to test whether they work correctly on _every_ platform -- that's the entire purpose of beta tests, right? So excluding one of the platforms you _intend_ to put your game on is not something a developer would logically do.

I would love to give it a go if it was on console but I know my phone would burn if even tried it install. But anyways I tried to figure out why they won't do PC and console port and my only answer is Asia market and AC Red. China itself has massive mobile player base and that alone (along with the IP) will catapult Jade to success. But oh, you want your "Asia AC" on PC/console? Not to worry, we got you, Red set in Japan is coming (probably) in 2024.

@zuzisam
@zuzisam Жыл бұрын
@@LeoKRogue Of course it doesn't reduce player base but if that was the only concern we wouldn't have things PS exclusives, I mean, isn't it in their best interest to sell the games all around? Yes and no, they want their consoles to sell more than Xbox, so they make exclusives games - now obviously that's different than what's going on with Jade but my point is, we don't know what kind of deal Ubisoft has with Tencent. Is it possible Tencent would make less money if there was a console port? What kind of price tag do you put on free to play game on mobile without your fanbase tearing you apart for that? Or do you just put it on things like Game Pass and hope the micro transactions will make a profit? Doesn't Ubisoft still want to make their "Infinity" platform for the games? Maybe they want to put it over there with big cheers and fireworks eventually. I don't know, I want to say: "They are not stupid." They know what are doing to make the most money. Or maybe they missed the mark (again) and throw sh*t on the ceiling and see if it sticks because, again, it's Ubisoft after all. (Honestly, no idea, would love to play it, shame it's not possible :/)

I'm thinking the exact same of y'all thinking, but I think I can see the reason why. Ubisoft probably wants to purposely split the player between PC/consoles and mobile. Why? I think because Ubisoft doesn't want the Jade to outshine those RPG entries that are yet to come next (this is purely based on my preference since I'd prefer to play RPG game that originally built on Free-To-Play idea & microtransactions around it, rather than those full paid RPG games that come for the past years). Afaik, Hoyoverse doesn't have their full-paid games like Assassin's Creed has. So, it's not a problem for them to put maximal effort into whatever games they made.
@imamfn
@imamfn Жыл бұрын
It's still my hypothesis, sure. But, idk, I have so much hype on Jade more than I have on Valhalla (which went live-service like for around 3 years before its final act ending). Also, since Jade isn't the main entries, IDGAF about the canonical about its ever expanding story.
@LeoKRogue
@LeoKRogue Жыл бұрын
That might make some kind of sense but when you pay for, say, Mirage, you're paying for a complete experience with a beginning middle and end. Jade doesn't provide that -- it's about a daily play-experience with a content drip over time so it doesn't seem to me like they'd interfere with each other anyway.
@imamfn
@imamfn Жыл бұрын
@@LeoKRogue I think the "daily-play-experience" isn't the exclusive thing for Jade/other Ubisoft FTP games, though. Again, it's been proven quite successful with Ubisoft's paid game like Valhalla and maybe GR Breakpoint & The Division 2 from other franchises (since both have similar things with minimal story added to it). Also, I don't think people were giving a shit about those RPGs' side contents from previous games, though lol. And tbf, we still don't know how future RPGs would have their gameplay mechanics & contents. Ex: having a co-op mode or even going with "ever-updating, live-service like" contents like Valhalla, which makes it similar to Jade

I'm definitely not willing to buy a new phone just to play one game, not when I have a PC and PS5 that I already play everything else on. When I play F2P games I really love, I always spend money in them to get something I want and support them since that feels fair after I've already gotten value from playing it free-of-charge. I am not alone, there are many, many players who think exactly like me. Those people aren't being captured by Ubi and Level Infinite in this case, and they could be.

@@LeoKRoguetotally agree. Besides, having AC Jade on multiple platform is better, since people may switch between devices at any time. Back when I played Genshin, I used to play on my phone whenever I'm at school, and played on PC whenever I'm at home. It would be more comfortable that way, since my phone battery also need to be recharged after the time I play games at school.

It failed for me the moment it required yet another login to play in addition to uplay. Hearing no controller and pc/console just sealed the deal. And could have been their chance to make an Asian Trilogy.

It seems like Ubisoft are reaching into their gamer psychology bag. Mobile players invest their downtime into their games, while console and PC gamers have dedicated and less frequent engagement on a busy day. Daily/weekly walled content appears like more of a grind on dedicated gaming sessions while they're simply a reality of mobile gaming on your phone. Mihoyo has notoriously struggled with their PC and console players' demands surging beyond their available gameplay, limited by phone storage and performance requirements for mobile users. Mobile gamers have also been shown to engage in microtransactions more frequently in the same game than their PC/console counterparts. Pushing their gamers to a unitary option ensures they're maximizing chances of microtransaction engagement while utilizing the advantages the confines of a mobile platform provide against cross-platform availability.
@LeoKRogue
@LeoKRogue Жыл бұрын
I've been playing Genshin and Star Rail since release and I promise Hoyo does not care at all about their players' desire for more consistent content than their games can release. Does it suck a little sometimes? Yeah. But this is the kind of game structure you're just not supposed to play that way and it took me a while to embrace that. On the dev and publishing side they truly don't mind at all, it barely affects them or their success. People still play, and they still benefit from being on more platforms, otherwise they wouldn't keep releasing new games on everything, they'd start locking them to just mobile -- but they don't -- so clearly they're happy with it. Again, Kuro Game do this too. And NIKKE. And Snowbreak. And most other gacha that are on Steam, for example. There's basically never a reason to refuse access on a platform if you can provide it, because even if people complain, you still got their playtime and you still got their money. Businesses want to make money above all else. If _all_ of these companies' analytics _showed_ them it was BETTER not to release on PC/Console, they would stop doing it. Instead, they just do it _more._ What do you think that means, and how smart do you think Jade is for ignoring that insight?
@AkkayaOzgun
@AkkayaOzgun Жыл бұрын
@@LeoKRogue Mihoyo has a strong dedicated team with experience in this field. Their approach, much like Kuro and other mentioned gachas, are more indicative of Asian dev, publishing, and marketing culture than it is to gacha as a whole. American gacha is relatively new, and it makes sense for Ubisoft to limit their risk and concentrate their release to a unitary platform; it contains reviews, experience, and criticism to the confines of a mobile platform and doesn't risk flopping a potential grand cross-platform release. Ubisoft definitely has the tools and resources to release this on multiple platforms, and I think the decision to release this game on mobile involves a mix of purpose built player containment through game psychology as well as cost based resource allocation and an American corperate structure. I doubt this is meant to release as a cash cow, and rather more as a proof of concept before corperate gives the go-around.

Why did the internet community accept Genshin Impact but not Diablo Immortal?
@LeoKRogue
@LeoKRogue Жыл бұрын
Because Diablo Immortal has bad game design, bad gameplay, bad progression, and coasted on the game-feel of Diablo III. Everything "good" about DI was already done for it by Diablo III previously, it has no strong or unique ideas of its own. Genshin Impact was an incredibly innovative game that basically spawned its own subgenre, inspiring tons of contemporaries. It's also much less predatory than Immortal -- like MUUCH LESS -- and it semi-regularly provides new experiences while (slowly) improving itself over time. TL;DR people accepted Genshin and not Immortal because Genshin is simply a much better videogame. :)

You play as a single character that you create, so there's no pulling for new units. It's Gear. Different weapons can have totally different passive skills, active skills and depending on type, movesets/animation-sets. There's gear you can find in-world as well but most of it isn't highest-rarity so you still have a reason to pull if you want something super unique, flashy or powerful. It makes sense.
@mirukuteea
@mirukuteea Жыл бұрын
Although it makes sense it sounds awful for anyone who's played any gacha because there is just very little variety some skills and gears can provide for the gameplay, when compared to a game with a roster of 20-ish characters that will keep growing.

@@mirukuteea I imagine they think they can get away with it because the amount of actions and abilities a single Assassin's Creed protagonist has go above and beyond what any single unit can do in any other gacha game you can think of.
